Thanks for the heads-up Anony. Way to go Bruno and the H-D/Buell of Grenoble team! Bruno is now tied with Michel (Macadam Moto) in the championship with last year's champion Any idea what broke on Michel's bike? Current French Pro-Twins Race Results and Championship standings (Buells 1 and 2). Podium Photo. Ducati 1098 racer took 2nd, with a 998R finishing out the podium. Looks like Ledenon is quite a track! 3.15Km (1.96 miles) Aerial photos of Ledenon Raceway |

Outstanding! Congrats to Bruno and the Grenoble team. That's it.. I need a fix for seeing more Buell racing. I'm going to have to belly up to the bar for airfare to Utah to see Walt and Bison racing in FX. Had all kinds of fun seeing a Glendale HD&B racer take 2nd at the club races at Willow Springs this weekend. Hearing and seeing he Buell fly around the track is addicting! Asbjorn |

It would be ungracious of me not to congratulate the XBRR win in France. Given I know now more about what is raced in the Pro Twins series, I hope those who are at pains with my previous comments will take a little joy from me saying well done to the Buell against such serious competition. Well done and congratulations from Rocket. |

One of my biggest problems on BadWeB is rising to the bait. When I first came to this thread I was unaware of 1098's running in the Pro Twins series. I doubted their presence per se. Since Dave posted that link the other day, which I'd not read until yesterday, I wasn't quite aware of the structure of this series. Anything goes, and seemingly it does, including prototypes to FIM rules is pretty serious competition, as is most of the rest of the field. So yes, I sucked arse yesterday because the Buell winning again deserved I do so. I might be a prick when I argue about motorcycles, but I'm not a prick full stop. I thank you for so eloquently putting me in my place though! Rocket |

A parable (take it as thou wilt): Three flies were in a barn - in the cold of winter they were starving. They were bemoaning their fate when a cow came in to take shelter from the cold and wind. After a short time, the cow did what ALL cows must do and left a warm, fresh, steaming pile of dung sitting there for the hungry flies to admire. Seeing it, they all fly down and GORGE themselves beyond the point of being full and find they're too full to fly. Now, on the cold ground, they are starting again to fear for their lives without being able to fly. One of them spies a pitchfork leaning against the wall and says: "Let's walk up the pitchfork to the top of the handle and jump off, surely we can do that so we can fly away." Off they go - to the handle, climbing to the top. The first fly leaps off and plummets to his death at the base of the pitchfork. The remaining two flies are alarmed and decide that what he lacked was a good, strong JUMP before attempting to fly. The second fly now readies himself and just before flying, he LEAPS into the air... only to die hitting the ground a few inches farther along than the first fly. The final fly, convinced he knows their problems, decides what they did not do was to flap their wings up to full speed and ALSO jump into the air... ...so the final fly revs his wings to FULL SPEED and buzzing mightily, he pushes off with all his strength... ...only to die on the ground just a few inches farther than the other two flies. The moral of the story? ? ? ? ? ? ? Don't fly off the handle when you're full of SHIT! |

Thanks for the support, people ! I'm the Macadam Moto XBRR wrench, and we smoked the clutch after a second start and went backwards after leading the race for 5 laps...can't win 'em all. "snif" The full report will be on Dave's site soon, with photos. Next race is at Le Mans on July the 22nd. That's not far from the UK, Rocketman, how about dusting off your Buell, fill it with gas and come down for the blast ? There are some nice roads on the way down, and I'll have a cold beer, or just-the-right-temperature glass of red wine waiting, and we can chew the fat, and you can see the XBRR up close. Come watch it race against Ducati's and Aprilia's finest. We're having a ball, OK, it may not be Moto GP, but it's not the same budget either... The two Buell's are now tied for points at the top of the tree, so Le Mans should be a hot one. |

Peter, that's a lovely offer, and hard to refuse. The timing's not good for me but I might try for a long shot, providing I don't face the guillotine if I make it! I'm a little familiar with roads in parts of Normandy. We have a family home about 10k from Mont St Michel, which isn't that far from Le Mans either. Thanks again. You're too kind, and very considerate. Rocket |

Next race is at Le Mans on July the 22nd. That's not far from the UK, Rocketman, how about dusting off your Buell, fill it with gas and come down for the blast? His Buell won't make it because Rocket hasn't figured out how to keep it from puking oil all over the rear tire. Thanks again. You're too kind, and very considerate. Very, very kind, considering how you have been talking smack about them all year...until you found out that there were 1098's in the race. Now everything is different? Who are YOU and what have you done with our Rocket? |

M1Combat sez: "Rocket sucking some serious arse...it is a first folks!" It's not a first (I've been there too...). Sean's a pretty gracious guy and knows when to say sorry... It is not a first that somebody sucked some serious arse, but that Rocket did it. I never thought I would ever hear "Rocket" and "gracious" used in the same sentence. Besides, Mr. Combat, granted that you have dug yourself into some serious holes, and when you found yourself in one, kept on digging anyway...but you aren't even close to being in Mr. Onestar's league. Two days ago there was a virtual crescendo of Badwebbers calling for the immediate banning of Mr. Onestar (who called Blake a big baby or sumsuchshit)}, a feat that you have failed to even come close to achieving. I would even go as far as characterizing your posts as being in the "cheerleader" variety, which mean you will never achieve Rocket's notoriety. But that doesn't mean you cannot change, so keep trying! |

Just to be clear. I don't think anyone's eaten more humble pie than I on BadWeB. I don't believe I ever once insulted the integrity of those racing in France. On the contrary actually. It's a shame I was explaining, that some seek to plagiarise the French efforts, when they should be stepping up to the plate themselves on home territory by fielding their own XBRR's and winning their own laurels. I think I'll head to Le Mans, just so I can send Jimi a postcard from the races As I've said before many a time on BadWeB, Vive la France. Rocket |

Thank you for saying that Jerry! GEESH! Sean, There are folks doing well in other venues on the XBRR or on other racing Buells as well. In CCS/ASRA in America for instance. One simply need peruse the Roadracing topics here to find them. Dave, I'm thinking of setting up a thread for the French Pro-Twins and moving all of the existing related threads there, including this one. That will be the place to post any links to new reports. I'll also create parent threads for CCS, ASRA, AMA FX, CMRA, the series in which Jens and team race, and ... ? Will put hyperlinks to those atop the main RoadRacing page so they are easy to find in case they end up drifting down the page in the chronologically sorted (by most recent post) list of threads. Henrik would be proud. |

Just to be clear. I don't think anyone's eaten more humble pie than I on BadWeB. This is the "high road" you were talking about? Comeon, this is such a rare occasion, can't we rub his nose in it just a little bit? I have never once called for Rocket to be banned from this forum. Personally, I would love to get that postcard. jimidan |
