ya im off work tomorrow too. damn if i would have known that he was in gainesville i would have ridden with him today. i havent done anything else lol. i doubt i'll be packing much tomorrow. probably just a backpack. i have to be at work saturday morning so not sure if i'll ride back after the races or try to sleep for a few hours then head back. figure i'll just pack the rainsuit and if it gets real cool i can throw that on to cut the wind on my ride back. perforations in my jacket seem to let alot of wind through for some reason... lol. and i shouldnt have a problem meeting you in ocala by 9:30 Paint. |

Never, The lunch plan is to eat BEFORE we go in the Speedway. It's kinda cliche, but I say we eat at Hooters. It's right outside the track and easy to find. However, it might be busy if we get there much more after 11:45. Tim and I will probably get to Altoona by 10:15 or so. From Altoona it is about a 45 min ride into Daytona. |

Y'all have fun and be safe tomorrow and this weekend. Campers, try to stay warm, wish we had more seasonal temps for ya. Today wrapped up our Daytona bikeweek festivities. Got a dentist appt. tomorrow morning, then on to Orlando or I'd head back to Daytona. Coaching all weekend in Orlando. Didn't meet up with any Badwebbers, but saw 5 other Buells today and after living in FL since '89, finally got to see the inside of the speedway up lose n personal. Got a taste of it, & really want to catch m/c races sometime now. Maybe we'll have better planning for next time. Cheers! BeLinda. |

Somebody make sure to have Vern give me a call, or someone shoot me a PM, to let me know where to meet everyone. I'm wiped - 11:45 from MD to FL, had a bite here at the folks' house and a pair o brews, and now I'm ready to crash. Hard. If I don't hear from folks, I'll just give Vern a shout when I get close to Daytona...or I get lost trying to get to a particular destination lol. |

SOOOO, I went to Daytona... I called Ken (aka Sekalilgai) at 2ish on Thursday afternoon and asked him what he was doing... then I asked him if he wanted to got to the races... He said yes... HE CALLED MY BLUFF! I told him NOT to post anything on badweb about our upcoming trip. I wanted to surprise Vern and crew. I almost let the cat out of the bag when Pellis (aka Paul) called from the track looking for Verns #. Who do ya think we see as we are pulling into the track... PAUL! LOL.. He screamed you LIAR with a big smile on his face... the cat was out of the bag. Then the hunt was on to find Vern.... we spotted him but he hadn't seen us... YET! He was setting up his tent when we rolled up behind him... I gave him a call and asked him what he was doing.... he proceeded to hold his phone up in the air as a bike went flying by to rub my nose in it.... not knowing I was less than 10 feet away... I was about to cry... I was laughing so hard! I finally had to hit the horn to get him to turn around.... a good laugh was had by all! what we left behind.... our destination.. what we got to see.... Look at that!! Its Ken with some hotties hello... Hey VERN!! Fixing to go from dead last to 8th... Just think how he would have done if someone didn't crash into him... GO SHAWN!! BUMMER!! It wasn't so bad... no points!! LOL back to reality.... Thanks for taking the pics Ken!! |

Defective Equipment!! Answers that mystery! Awesome surprise seeing Mark and Ken laughing their butts off as I was playing the sound of the passing bikes into his phone. That was more than cool to see you guys.....ya got me good. I'm back, and not nearly as cold as I was Friday night/Saturday morning! This was a great day to ride, nearly above fifty all day, even hit sixty for a while! Back to thirty four coming into the home front though. I will get back to this tomorrow, the wife is calling for me to get back to the house! Thanks everybody. I had a great time and an awesome, but cool(really cool) weekend. Need more meds and my electric blanket. Court my condolences. |

>>>Court my condolences. Thank you so very much . . . . in fact, thanks to all of you. I got tons of nice e-mails and calls and it meant so much. There was great comfort in seeing the enthusiastic support as Buell owners continued to show at Daytona to celebrate Buell's first "season of freedom", I think next year will be very interesting but this year was special. You simply can't just kill a company with such a strong spirit and you guys, as well as the 3 phenomenal Buell riders, proved that with style. Man . . . what a show those 3 put on, eh? Shawn reminds me of Buell . . . every time he gets thrown to the ground . . . he just gets up and goes harder and faster. We need to think seriously about starting a tire fund for him. Thanks again for the great photos, great memories (even in absentia) and for all your kind words. Court |

Great pics, guys. I have to get mine on....as soon as I get back home to the card reader I left behind. DOH. It was great seeing everyone (again, in many cases). The 200 was a great race, and the Buell teams did an AMAZING job. While I wonder how Shawn would have done had he not gone down....I also wonder if going down was what made him ride like his ass was on fire the whole time. I know for me, anger can accomplish quite a bit! But just incredible riding, all night long. Every lap..."wow, there's one/two/three/four more riders behind him this lap!" Unbelievable. I also wonder when they're going to get their heads out of their asses, and realize a NIGHTtime motorcycle race, in March, might not be the best idea. Cold track, cold tires...lots of body repairs. And Court - we all missed you (and I have to admit I missed the AM box-o-coffee, LOL). And...you missed quite a few pairs of boots! I hope all went as well as it could for you this weekend, our thoughts are with you. |

We need to think seriously about starting a tire fund for him. I believe we already have Court...I'm going to bump the thread back up as it has almost hit the archives...donations can be made on the other end of the link in...Shawn Higbee's Daytona 200 effort. |

Shawn is the star of the Buell guys, but don't forget the 'James Gang', and Walt Sipp. These guys finished in the top twenty against the best in the World. All three teams independent and underfunded, riding Buells because they love riding them. They all need our help and support. Awesome show guys! |
