change of plan, things are kinda slow here and just asked my supervisor about taking friday off. seems to be no problem at this time so anytime you want to hook up and get going vern will be good with me right now. i'm outta work by 330 so maybe i can find ya before you go to dinner tomorrow. have a safe trip and watch out in atlanta. adrian and paint what ever you guys want to do will be fine with me. | ||

No_Rice, they told me if I get there thursday night, I pay 20.00 to get to tent area, then 45.00 for friday (Gen. admin./infield) I can stay till sat but have to leave before the events that day. Will call closes around 6pm, so I will get my tickets when I arrive. (but I am still not 100%  ) | ||

You guys have a great time! It's killing me to not be there. I hope the races are just phenominal, and you all have safe trips there and home. I haven't been to Daytona since 2006. I'm overdue to get back there. Maybe next year. | ||

Court and I made it to Orlando. When we got off the plane Court received a phone call from his wife that her aunt passed away today. He will be heading home tonight Safe travel home. RIP | ||

oh thats sad news for them. ------------------ So like,..my gf got sick 2 days ago, if I go I'd have to leave her at home....sick by herself. Geeze it is already depressing me. I know I'm gonna mope around all weekend. I have to look on bright side: +save money -chill with gf at home all weekend +visit my mom +buy mom gift +do stuff around house thats been neglected +make more chicken soup Damit. as I type this I am thinking: 1. I still have 1.5hr to get to REI to get camping gear, then load up bike on my deck out back. 2. Load up with just my triple tail and find a camping store in fla. | ||

Kim and my thoughts go out to everyone. Change of plans here, too. Uly broke a belt running errands (better a mile from home, than somewhere in the Carolinas I guess), so I'm rethinking my pack and stuffing the S2 to the gills. So far...it looks like I *might* get it all to fit. No folding chair, though  | ||

Frank - thanks, but it's at the dealer getting a new one under (the last two months of) warranty. I'll let the MoCo pay for it  And since I have spare bikes laying all over the garage (Kim dared me to take her Blast - AIN'T HAPPENING!), I'll just load one o' them up As much fun as the CR would be...the S2 has bags! | ||

My thoughts and prayers to Court and his Family! XBMike, hope your G/F gets better soon! NoRice, We can meet at the Ocala H-D Dealer and then hook up with the others at 42/19 at 10:30. For all that are going (or thinking about it), the $45 covers you for the infield, pit area and camping for Fri nite. If it is not too cold, I will be wearing my Buell race shirt. If it is cold I will probably be wearing my Buell fleece and Buell beanie. My plan is to arrive by noonish. During the day I will probably spend most of my time in the pit area. For the Superbike race and the DSB race I plan to split time between the pit and the bleachers around the International Horeshoe. After the race, we should be easy enough to find... Just look for all the Buells parked in the camp area and the Buelligans/shennanigans!! For all those travelling/riding to Daytona, be watchful as John Law will most likely be out in force anywhere close to Daytona and the surrounding Counties. Almost forgot... There are 2 Shower houses in the infield. The water is warm to hot, but the there is no heat in the building and the concrete floors are cold! | ||

Neil - even if you don't have a ticket, you can ride into the infield through the tunnel. Just can't get to the ticketed garage area or fenced off camping areas. It's worth riding in to have a look-see. That way we can check if any other Badwebbers may be interested in going for lunch. | ||

Well, I'm still packing (damn Uly breaking tossed a wrench into the whole "what do I take / where do I put it" plan!), hope to hit the road by 9am, should put me in FL about 10pm-ish. Dunno if I'll be able to drag my old ass outta bed in time to meet Vern and the rest in Ocala...but I'll definitely be at the track! Red S2 with lowers and wide bags. | ||

That's cool. I was thinking about the route. Since you are Brandon, Bugnut is in Apollo Beach, me in Palm Harbor, and not sure where in Tampa Vern is. What do you think about meeting at US301 & CR54 in Zephyrhills? There is a convenient store/gas station on the NE corner. We could take CR54 east to US98. Then jog south on 98 just a 1/2 mile or so and then north on 471 through the Green Swamp. It's a dead straight road, but at least it isn't interstate and we could make quick time to Hwy 50. Then we could take 50 east to Groveland. From Groveland 19 north through Howie in the Hills, Tavares, and Eustis, and on to Altoona. Let me know your thoughts. | ||

I'm on the black CR and I have seen a few other buells around. Met a pretty cool guy on a very clean X1 at breakfast yesterday. Neil - have you spoke to Vern? I tried calling his cell. No answer, no voice mail. I emailed with Mike (Bugnut) and am planning on being at the corner of CR54 and US301 in Zephyrhills by 8:15am. If you are coming north on 301 to meet us there, don't confuse it with SR54 and US301. This is just a little north of where SR54 goes off to the west. Laird - we will meet you in Altoona at 10:30am. Tim, why not? We are going to watch 1125's run in the 200! I'm riding mine there. It's more comfortable to make the trek across the state than the XB12R. |
