It will be dark. And MUCH warmer than here! I am getting stoked! I need to finish a few projects and upload some due funds, and the game will be set! So what will be our schedule Mark? I'm leaving that part up to you. We have room at the inn in the park for you. |

So what will be our schedule Mark? I'm still on the fence... I may be seeing you in the infield if I can make it. I may head down 77 if I ride. That will knock about 100 miles off my trip. If the weather up here is sucking so bad the I need to put in the truck... I will head to your place like last year. that is if I can make it.... |

Well if the speed shot on the Uly down I77 is the case we can pick a time to meet South of Columbia SC where it meets with I26. Eeeez no problem for me! Or if the Mountain routes are not good I can catch you where I16 and I95 meet near Savanna. I certainly understand the pain of the extra 100 miles. The first half of your ride will be a cold sombich. It would probably be better down I75 from my place this year. The Rock slides across I40 won't be done for another month or so. by the time we detoured around that it would be the quickest route. Cutting across potentially snow and ice covered mountain passes to get to I26 does not seem like a good choice. So.....will Mark truck to my place or not truck....Will we even be able to go.....stay tuned for more..... |

Columbus Ohio next Wednesday will be a toasty 26 degrees w/about 20% chance of something falling from the sky. As I head south, the temp goes up but so does the chance of rain... 60% by the time I get to Columbia. But you told me to HTFU... why didn't I think of that! LOL. |

RAIN GEAR??? Your can ride in the RAIN?!?!? Who would have thought... I need to take the wheels and tires off the TT and put them on the Uly. The back tire on the Uly doesn't have 2000 miles left in it.... But I can't do that until this weekend. I have some BIG knobbies going on the TT.... I'll post some pics once I get them mounted... ITS GONNA BE FUN! |

I try to keep this thought in mind as often as possible. It was told to me by a dead guy (before he was dead) it goes a little something like this. "I've never seen or heard of anyone on their death bed wishing they had worked more". |

When I left home to ride to Daytona in 2006, temps were in the teens. It had snowed the day before, and riding through the Connecticut hills, I encountered white out conditions as the wind blew the snow across the Interstate. It didn't get above freezing until I got to New York City, which is about 200 miles. I rode 750 miles that day. If a Crusty old fart can do it, so can you. (and if my attitude at work doesn't get better pretty quickly, I might just do it again) (Message edited by Crusty on February 23, 2010) |

I know it is late to be looking, but it doesn't appear that tent camping is allowed in the infield. Am I missing something? http://www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com/Ticket s-Events/Events/2010/Daytona-200-Week/Daytona-200- RV-Camping.aspx |

WTF??????? It appears to be RV and Premium camping only at the track. I'll probably just ride back home... Worst case, I'll stop somewhere along the way, outside of the "Bike Week price hike area".... Never, Plan is to ride over on Hwy 42 on the south side of the forest. There are some curves in the road and hopefully the traffic will be light. I am planning on leaving Inverness around 8:00 or 9:00 am. It will probably be a small group (4-5 riders) going. Let me know if you want to join in. |

my plan is to work till 9am. leave from work(mulberry) and head due north. looks like the best for me would be go straight up 37, jump on i-4 to 33n. get over on 19 and try and meet ya up in altoona. of course that would depend on what time you think you might get to altoona. it's almost 90 miles for me and depending on traffic maybe and hr and a half. 2 max |

Hey! Your arrow is on the spot I pitched my tent last year! Just mapped out my route to Kingsland. I will be heading South on I75 to Tipton, then 82E to Waycross, then 1/23S to Folkston, and 40E to Kingsland. That looks to be about 465 miles. AM ride will be about 100 miles to Daytona for lunch with Court and company. Hey Mark, I believe we could comfortably say we can meet them for lunch around 1:30 to 2:00 Thursday, what do you think? |
