So.....you are saying that you might not be up by 8:30 am Thursday? Looks like about nine hours of riding for me to get to Kingsland if all goes well. Should only be about four hours to Daytona for us from there. I'm ten years older than you, so by my physiological mathematics  my nine hours of riding is at least equivalent to your fourteen hours. That equates to my ass hurts approximately more than your ass....sooner! You can do it! | ||

well i MAY have friday off. i wouldnt mind heading up on thursday night, but dont have any camping gear, doubt im springing for a hotel there this time of year! and still have to figure out what a ticket will cost me?? im assuming i would need a pit pass or some such thing to get into where everyone will be hanging out? id like to make it, for once im so damn close to where its going on i'll be pissy if i dont... but i have to do it on the cheap. im already going to miss out on the meal with court the way it sounds! grr lol. even if i could get out of work earlier on thursday i still wont be there till afternoon sometime. | ||

Tim, I generally pack a two tent deal, where when the weather is nasty and or damp I stick the smaller one inside the bigger one. They are both in the tent bag I carry anyway, you are more than welcome to use one of them. You will need your own sleeping bag though, unless Mark wants close company in his tent! Infield entry ticket covers camping(camping free). We are planning to be there Thursday and Friday nights. Come on down! | ||

thanks for the offer vern, i'll have to see what i can round up and if i can actually make it on thursday or not. i may have to bomb up there in the morn and back friday night, because i will have to be back at work on saturday im sure. but it would be the first time trying to pack anything on the buells! figure it'll probably be the 1125r because the 9 is out of commission until further notice(as in its broke and i doubt i'll have the money to fix this problem for a looooong time. the poor thing...) | ||

The gods of Daytona really don't want me to come visit... last week one of the wheel bearing went on the wifes Durango...$300 bucks Today, I was on my way to Louisville to see a customer and deliver some material. On my way there and back, I was going to stop at some job sites to make sure I would order the correct material... ..and get paid the mileage for said customer call... helping fund my Daytona trip. WELL... as I was getting on I-71 south, I put the peddle to the floor to merge with traffic. Looked in the rear view and saw whitish stuff blowing... I thought it was snow coming out of the bed... but it didn't stop.. on closer inspection... it was steam....$HIT!! I pull over and pop the hood... coolant is all over the place. I get back in, fire it up and take the next u-turn and head to the local shop a couple of miles from my house. On the way there I notice the battery is not charging... WOOO F-ME HOOOO!! I like this truck but it has been a pain. The oil pan rusted off of it... then I was involved in a little front end collision. The repair shop did what looks like good work... but once I drove it.... I had to take it back for a front end alignment and then back again when I noticed the driving lights didn't work... not to mention the weatherstripping on the driver side door not being put on correctly.... I'm just pissed! I need this like I need swift kick in the nads. and just a FYI, its a 2003 Dodge Ram 4x4 with less than 64,000 miles on it | ||

I'll be flying down after work on monday Mar 1, to meet up with my dad and uncle who are trailering our bikes down tomorrow, then we will all be driving back the next sunday. I'm excited to meet some fellow buell owners. In a year and a half of my "sickness" I have only met one other afflicted rider. And he was a tool. | ||

I'm excited to meet some fellow buell owners. In a year and a half of my "sickness" I have only met one other afflicted rider. And he was a tool. You are about to meet a whole tool box!! Mark, this last cold snap has me bent too! It slows everything we do. Still planning.....holding course.  I hope my bike is ready. I haven't had a chance to go over it yet. I got it out last Sunday to wash it and do some preliminary checks, but the weather was so nice (we hit 62F) I kept working all day. Next thing I knew it was dark and cold again.  |
