Dyna, See, Blake's factor of four comes into play again. I say ~$100, you paid $400. Sudco will sell me a 38mm Mikuni Roundslide (one of my favorite carbs) for under $150. What's a stock CV from the dealer cost??? James edited by jprovo on July 07, 2003 |

I found this on a yahoo V Rod forum. I enjoy looking through this site and thought everyone would enjoy this information. "I wonder if we will find out where they will put the wrinkle black drive side cover motors I saw being assembled at the plant last week. I saw several skids of these interesting looking motors, but none being installed in bikes." Question:"What type of motors were they, TC88 or Revolution?" Answer:"Definately Revolution. This is the only motor assembled in the KC plant. I believe they are the only motors assembled outside of Milwaukee." Enjoy, Jonathan |

A blacked out V-rod would be cool looking. The Night Train look. Gotta lose the wheels & retarded headlight tho. |

Buell and Sportster engines are assembled in Milwaukee on Capitol Drive. Unless things have restructured. Yeah, get rid of the melted-lens look. |

HMMMM??? From http://www.harleydavidsonforum.com/forums/index.php?s= Bit of 04 news I have a pretty good source within HD and he hinted some 04 stuff to me on the weekend. Heritage Springer - Gone for 04 Dyna "T" - Gone for 04 Dyna Sport - Gone for 04 Night Train - Gone for 04 New Sportster from the ground up. He wont give me many details though. He cant confirm but he also said he has heard rumours that the V-Rod will be discontinued for 04. He said he is more than 50% sure that the VRSCA as we know it today will be dropped. He did say that he is hearing that the motor will live on in a new bike(s) though. There is a cheaper model coming for sure with the Revolution motor. He said he will know for sure after the show in Vegas next weekend. There is something major new coming at the show as they already have launch dates for this mystery bike booked for North America. He probably knows what it is but due to job security he wont tell me because he knows it will end up on the net. Nick Out here, on the road in the DC. edited by Nxtr on July 08, 2003 edited by Nxtr on July 08, 2003 |

HD has said from the very beginning that the Vrod was the first of many using that engine. It is the vrscA, implying there will be a B, C, etc. I'm betting we see it in a full dress bagger soon. Something to rival the goldwing. Exciting stuff. |

Haha that's so funny. We got a cool looking Harley in the V-rod the worse part being, at least in this country for the majority they're ridden by city jerk offs who cruise the coffee bars on Saturday afternoon. I like the look of the V-rod, was especially pleased to hear our old friend Brian (Cecil) bought one. It's the kind of bike that deserves to be owned by hooligans and it's great if they do stop production of it because that will give it the kudos it deserves once it becomes 'outdated' and thus not required by the coffee bar (big)kid. But I still can't stop laughing over Jeff's comment I'm betting we see it in a full dress bagger soon. Something to rival the goldwing. Exciting stuff. No disrespect to those who want that bagger but to imagine the V'rod being morphed into a Goldwing rival.....................I'm not a motorcyclist get me outta here! Here's a thought from Rocket. July 14th NOTHING NEW! Rocket |

I've heard from a guy in my HD dealer that the Vrod will have a blacked out motor in '04. We'll know soon enough. He couldn't, btw, tell me anything about what Buell will be doing. Oh well. |

These last posts may confirm info I heard. I heard that HD is a good stock to buy right now, and as you know, insider trading is alive and well in the USA. I was told that HD will reinvent itself over the next few years and there are big changes going on to target a new and more profitable audience. This is supposedly going to equal many stock splits and dividends. Maybe this goes along with the last few posts? His advice was to buy HD as a good 3 or 4 year stock. I hate rumors and I think this thread is silly, but it is weird that what I heard goes along with what was just said here. |

I think HDI is a good stock to buy any time it goes under $40.00, and today it closed at $39.33. It's a good "Brick & Mortar" type company that will continue to make money well into the foreseeable future. Some "Dot com" company and some Drug company will, no doubt, do even better but you just don't know who those companies will be. HDI might go even lower ($35 per share isn't imposable) but anything under $40 is a pretty good bet. If it hits $35 you should get a second mortgage on the farm and buy a zillion shares on margin. You’d be a rich dude six months later. |

No disrespect to those who want that bagger but to imagine the V'rod being morphed into a Goldwing rival........... No, not a morphed VRod, a new motorcycle with an engine based on the VRod engine. |

If you are interested in what the V-rod looks like as a bagger check this site out http://www.cyclevisions.com They have a full conversion kit that installs a full fairing and bags to make a current v-rod to look like a road glide. |

well, the original poster said "Page 6 today's MCN - which includes picture. Approx. £7500 to you sir (or madam)", which would lead me to guess that they are referring to the latest issue of Motorcycle News. And they're right about the MCN site sucking...it stinks.

The most MCN will do (the site, that is) is reference the article in an current/upcoming mag. I didn't really see anyhting there, so I assume that the Buell bit is just a side bar in the mag. Rocket, do you get MCN at all? |

Aaron is in a better position to speculate on the ramifications here, but I think a stroked XB9 to XB12 (if that is what comes out) is better news then it looks like on paper. First of all, the top end may only be bumped up by 6 horses or so, but I bet the torque curve gets way fat, which would be great on the street bike. More importantly, I am assuming that whatever magic Aaron and Pammy are currently applying to the XB9's can be applied to a factory stroked XB12 just as well, which should put a cost effective 110 RWHP Nallin / CycleRama bolt on kit easily in reach. The factory can stroke these things at little to no cost, they just change the original machining and parts. For the aftermarket, stroking is a big deal and required machining the cases (right?). Buell did us a huge favor by upping the displacement via stroke and leaving the bore available as low hanging fruit to the aftermarket. I think it is fantastic news if it turns out that is what they did. The experts here can correct me if I am wrong in my speculation, I am a young punk here with a lot to learn about aftermarket mods.

but, but, but.... what about what 'our old friend Brian (Cecil)' had to say on The BORG? quote:MY GOD! I read and heard from a very good source that a liquid cooled Buell is REAL! You _-_ks are too busy trying to be the resident a$$hole to dig up some dirt on the situation! _-_k holes!
OK, obviously the Cecil suit was on, so edited for the sensitive.
