|Personal Quote:||Watashi no Nihongo wa warui desu.|
|Bike Model (Ex - M2, XB12Rr, S1W, P3):||XB9R Firebolt; XB12XT Ulysses|
|Model Year (Please enter full 4-digit year):||2003 XB9R; 2008 XB12XT|
|Color:||Black Firebolt, Black UlyXT|
|V.I.N. (To aid in problem resolution. Will not be displayed or shared otherwise.) :||(Hidden)|
|Servicing Dealership:||Me, because every dealership I've been to has lost my respect (and my business).|
|Performance Mods!:||Firebolt - K&N, XB12 Airbox upper w/holes, Drummer exhaust, Race ECM, heat blanket under the lower airbox.
Ulysses - nothing (yet).
|Problems/Miles (Please be specific):||Firebolt - destroyed the stator at a little under 19K, replaced it myself.
Ulysses - rattled the lower left windshield and left front sidecase mounting bolts out. Spent an evening Loctiting everything I could get my hands on. LOL
|Other Mods/Misc/Customization.:||Firebolt - Reversed the passenger pegs to help convince my girlfriend to ride with me. Also made convenient saddlebag mounts to screw into them when the pegs aren't on. Buell Custom Seat (HUGE improvement), black XB12R bodywork with the stickers removed, Carbon Fiber frame protectors, Double Bubble Windscreen, Traction rider pegs and grips, Dark Horse Moto sliders (front and back), RRC mirrors, black levers, and a Ventura Rack.
UlyXT - Strada's windshield brackets, moved the front turn signals in, Odie's heat blankets, under tail and handlebar bags.
|Favorite Rides (Roads and Routes):||Huron River Drive, Hines Drive, and a myriad of newer entrance and exit ramps (how sad is that?). Out past Ann Arbor and up in the Port Huron area there are some decent roads. Anywhere in North Carolina, Virginia, southeastern Ohio (YES, THAT OHIO).|
|Why I do/don't ride a Buell:||The bikes are awesome! My Ulysses in particular astounds me. It does everything - can hang in the twisties, tool down the highway, and rock two-up with three full saddlebags. What isn't to love?
As great as the bikes are, though, the people are even better. They're the real reason I'm proud to be a Bueller.
|How can Buell improve their motorcycles?:||Take these wonderful machines out of the hands of money-grubber Harley Davidson, and build a dealer network that I can trust to change the oil!|
|Life History/Philosophy:||Why worry until you have to?|
|Top speed on 2 wheels (mph):||Pegged the Blast and hit an indicated 130mph on the Firebolt. Rock-freaking-steady.|
|Preferred engine oil (brand/grade):||Mobil 1 V-Twin 20W50 all over. Not sure if I'll ever trust the M1 Synth 75W90 in the trannies again after replacing the stator.|
|Best 1/4 mile time/speed:||12.200 seconds @ 112.49mph ... I'll get that sub 12.000 one of these days|
|Best Dyno Run:||82.7hp and 76.2ft/lbs (XB9R)|
