dude, you can love your bike all you want, but new is always interesting. You should hear what some folks are saying about the R1200GS that should be a 2005 model. 3 models off that platform (super motard, dualie and off road), minus 50-60 lbs, increase in hp (no rumors yet)...at least there are some spy pics on that one... |

MCN reports Bigger bore Buell If you can be bothered to take the time MCN's website is pretty cool. Use the search engine. As for the XB12's latest info NOT on their website I think you'll find the article speaks for itself. And yes I buy it every week. Lest I forget, the nob head who did that to a V-rod should be taken somewhere miserable, kicked in the balls extremely hard several times then castrated with a blunt bread knife and left to bleed in the hope that they endure a slow and painful death. As an addendum to that, any V-rod owner who dares to install one of those stupid windshields should at least be kicked in the balls hard too. Rocket

You know, if you had to ride a V-Rod across Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and the Dakotas, you might get to really like that windshield and fairing. Of course, I'd rather ride across those states on an S3-T. (Or maybe an XB12-T) |

Thanks Rocket. For some reason, the load times on MCN has been terrible the last 6 months or so. Enough that I rarely go to it now. When they do list their tests online, they're sweet, but I find the whole site cumbersome in general (IMHO) |

Hi All Just bought the last copy of MotorCycle News here in the UK to be greeted with the headline "Bigger Bore Buell XB". It goes on sale later this year, the paper is printing the first review next week and has a picture of it. It has a black frame and swing arm with gold wheels and is using thr Harley 1200 sportster motor. How sick am I that I pick up my 9 tommorow - no wonder thay gave me such a good deal! I'll let you know if anything else comes out over here. Be lucky Clive In my e-mail this morning... Nallinization coming up this winter. I think this is great news, especially if all those people that said "I'd buy one if it were a 1200" or "if it only had a little more power..." The more Buellers the marrier... |

A strange disruption in the Force has been felt as trailer doors closed on freshly loaded cargo for a westbound run of a non-descript rig heading out of a rain-drenched parking lot behind a locked chain-link fence with privacy boards slatted in. A man with darkish slightly graying hair stands at a corner tinted window as the tractor/trailer departs to it's southwestern destination. A phone rings at the destination as a tumbleweed tumbles by leaving a faint trail of sandy brushprints on fresh asphalt that are soon to be accompanied by a sprinkling of lyme-type tracking material layed down in a meandering pattern, the only words spoken: "they're on the way". A here-to-fore unknown Valkyrie riders heads across the Prairies to the same destination, unknowing that he will at times be sharing a parking lot and eating at the same diner as the aforementioned tractor driver. Perhaps one will wave the other ahead at an intersection with a friendly nod, unknowningly knowing their mutual final stop for the upcoming week. No crates for this load, and no kneepads for the rider, just miles and miles, then smiles and smiles as revelations are revealed when the cargo is unsealed at the already known location.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here... I say that, whatever we see for '04, we won't see a 52" wheelbase bike with a significant power increase over what's now available. -Saro |

Sarodude, I totally agree! I cant keep my front wheel down with the power and torque that I have. I cannot imagine a motor with a significant torque increase , that will be usable. Maybe Buell will offer a suspension package to lower the bike and help keep the front end down! |

Im currently here at the races in laguna, I went to the buell demo tent and talked to one of the guys from milwaukee, I asked if we were going to see a xb12, he of course didnt know anything, but when we talk about the xb motor, I brought up more power, overhead cams? He asked me if I had internet access and I said yeah. He told me come monday there will be good news. |

I stumbled across some '04 HD/Buell part numbers today. During my "stumbling" I also discovered the part number for a 49mm throttle body, which is part of an '04 XB engine. I was under the impression that the '03 XBs used a 45mm throttle body. I'm not really sure what this means, it could be nothing. I just hope it doesn't get me fired. Mike |

49mm throttle body I want one. If I did get one do ya think it'd be like re-jetting or puttin' on a four barrel, or no gain with crappy gas mileage. Would I have to do something to the heads to see a performance change. I'm a real fan of do-it-yourself bolt on stuff, as that's probably all I'm qualified to do on my own... |

Actually, the part is listed as "throttle body manifold 49mm" and retails for $462. It actually seems to be some sort of assembly including the TPS and some sort of fuel rail. Of course, the 49mm part may be referring to the manifold itself or possibly and outside dimension of the throttle body. For all I know it's a typo or the result of some confusion between the person writing the part descriptions and the marketing information. I can't prove that this isn't the same part used on exsisting XB9 engines. I sure hope someone (anon maybe?) could let me know if I'm sharing information that shouldn't be shared. I'd prefer not to cause any trouble over this. Mike |

Spidey, 49mm for a 500 single??? Why the push for a FI Blast? That's all it needs... Instead of: Newbie1: "I just installed a new $200 pipe, and a $60 air filter, do I need to rejet?" Badwebber1: "Yeah, It will cost under $100 and take you a couple of hours to do it the first time" It will be: Newbie1: "I just installed a new $500 race kit (pipe, filter and ecm)and now the bike runs like crap, what do I do?" Badwebber1: "Schedule an appointment with your local dealer, and have the TPS reset. It shouldn't take more than a week to get an appointment, and cost more than $200" Blake: "You're not actually resetting the TPS..." See what I mean? "> James Less than 4 more hours until it's the 14th in East Troy, I will be disappointed if there is not a huge expose posted on the web at the stroke of midnight "> edited by jprovo on July 13, 2003 |
