DO you hear Banjos??? LOL Good one Bubba.

Not That I am a fan of the H-D lifestyle by any means. What is so wrong with a H-D rider wearin H-D from Head to toe???

I wear Buell from Head to toe as much as possible. My wardrobe consits of Buell and Spider man shits, sweat shirts etc. Does that make me a Buell Poser???
And BTW Make sure that anything you say on this board you are willing to say to someones face and don't make assumptions about the protection level of gear till you have crashed in em. I have went down once with fingerless gloves with out one scratch on my fingers, this is probbally more luck than anything but I would rather save the palms of my hands than anything. (since then I only wear full finger gloves{which BTW this is not a crack at wearin chaps})

All this makes me think about when i was in Germany. There were these guys that would go to the bar that I worked in wearing full race leathers, carrying a helmet and all. They would sit at the bar most of the night. At the time I had a bike so I thought I would see what they rode. One night there were 5 of them in there so I asked one what he rides. They all kind of looked at each other and the one I asked pointed to another guy in the group and said "He is the only one who has a motorcycle."
I just backed away slowly, and never asked them anything again.

M1,

Re:"A homosexual person will automatically be on the defensive if called gay by someone if there's a chance it could have been meant negatively."

How many homosexual people do you know personally? All the ones I know seem to be proud to use the words queer, gay, dike, dyke, leather dike, butch and some even use the word fag on a regular basis. Now, some people just prefer to be called by name.

As far as "PC people" causing degeneration of social norms. I think the religious right does far more to do this by creating brainless sheep that will fork over their money to some kind of heirarchical paternalistic righteous propagandists. Only thing I have ever learned from my gay friends are acceptance, love and tolerance. Hmmmnnnn now who would I like to hang out with?

As far as my 'thongs getting in a bundle'. I don't wear thongs... but once or twice I have gotten slightly irritated about badweb concerning personal relationships I have formed with people from the board... and it has occured off the board. Anything posted here is just an opinion. Everyone is entitled to one... and it means nothing to me.

If you are familiar with any of my postings in the past... I tend to just post thoughts of my own to get the pot stirred up and to perhaps challenge some close minded thinkers.

Ah,
What--- EVER !!! too. too funny. I am Laughing MFAO!!!

Charlotte
PS I don't care what other people wear when they ride as long as they get the f*** out of my way when they see me coming...

It is funny to me that a little cartoon with a guy (i assume) riding a Lightning and wearing some funny clothing (funny for what he appears to be doing) has caused a bunch of us to start talking about PC,Homosexual, derogatory issues. Looks like we all needed to talk about something a little more substantive than just motorcycles and their performance. To all of you who are having this discussion with out resorting to anger and bad grammer; Way to go. America needs people to start thinking about what they are saying before they say it. Maybe that will be the real legacy of the internet. You actually have to type the words and then send them instead of just blurting them out. I am rambling. Take care all and continue the debate, it is good for the brain.

I know a few around town (pretty small town) and all of them seem to like me. Heck, I even tried to get Trinity to dance with me once but he wouldn't. He was there with a mutual friend of ours (Female).

Of course the gay people you know are proud to use those words... Same as the word "Nigga". Go to your local ghetto (if you're white) and start calling people niggaz. See what I mean. It's entirely different coming from someone outside. I suppose I sort of singled out homosexuals in my post but the statement holds true with many groups.

Anyway.... Nuff said NOW.. :).

Dblhaulxb9s: "You actually have to type the words and then send them instead of just blurting them out." I couldn't have said it better myself.

I can only add to your words: The words you type live forever! There in the archives! Don't type things you don't want to be reminded of six months or two years from now.

Great thread guys. Who would have thunk that one silly 'toon would get such a good discussion going.

Anybody want a 1024 X 768 .jpg copy of the cartoon via e-mail?

Wow, I had to go back and look at the cartoon again to try and figure out what all the ruckus was about. Hmmmmm.. Let's see.. I guess people must think I'm really weird as well, since I've worn Jeans, Engineer boots, T-shirt, Leather Vest and open finger gloves while riding a Buell. Hmmmmm.. I've also been spotted wearing a full one piece leather riding suit, Sidi boots, and armored gloves.. while riding a Buell..

I think, if one thinks about the image that was being displayed.. I think they were commenting on the fact that the 'cruiser' riders that are the H-D faithful now have a truly competent series of up to date, stylish, well built bikes they can actually take to the track and run with the 'other' brands..

Some people just get too damn silly when it comes to some things. I'm not even sure where some of this thread came from.. But as always, people here are interesting and different.. just like our rides.

's cool man. (or woman)

Later,

Char says,

>>>"brainless sheep that will fork over their money to some kind of heirarchical paternalistic righteous propagandists"<<<

All of those words, and the structure of that sentance is meant to hurt, belittle and insult.

Then,

>>>"Only thing I have ever learned from my gay friends are acceptance, love and tolerance<<<"

Hmmmmm, makes me wonder if you really did learn.
