Not a Big fan of chaps but I am sure alot of people are not a big fan of full racing suits. I think chaps would look like shit on me but to each his own, and if it is protectin your ass the more power to ya. BUT if you have fringe your gay!!  | ||

Great 'toon! my new wallpaper. If it's between me & painful road rash, I don't ask the sexual preference. I always thought fringe was for letting the rain drip off (if you are a mountain man or historical re-anactor) or to S&M beat your calves, etc. (if you ride 70 mph in "styling" gear). BTW I look silly in in race leathers (being rather rounder than real racers) so chaps make sense, & are far easier to get in my size. That said, I'm off to wear full Ballistic gear & ride. Yeah I'll look silly but I don't care much. | ||

Hmmm, Not trying to piss you off, but if the shoe fits, wear it proudly. If it doesn't, take it as a compliment. If everyone in this country (or even just a good percentage) would adopt this little change to their paradigm the U.S. wouldn't be in such a horrible "politically correct" situation. I don't take offense when someone calls me a homo-phobe (Not saying you are homosexual or that I was calling someone one) I don't get offended in the least. But go call a homosexual person gay and all of a sudden they take offense. Why, Guilty conscience? Again, Not implying that anyone here is gay, just stating a fact. "Fringe leathers don't make people gay, People make people gay." Guns don't kill, A sleds is only as fast as the idiot makes it go, loud pipes save lives, If you don't like it - Lump it (My Dad used to tell me that, and no, I still haven't figured out exactly what "Lump it" means...) Fringe leathers on a Buell however, are Gay (Still not saying anything about the person wearing them mind you). Keep in mind though, that's MY opinion. I thing the term Gay has been used to replace the word queer. Juat a few decades ago when Gay ment happy an queer ment strange some one would describe strange this as being queer. So now when we something strahge we say gay. Also thanks to great TV shows like South Park, Darma an Greg and Will an Grace we are now a society of confused degenerates. Not know when is it the correct time to use the F-word or call some one black or African-American, gay, homo or whathave you. Now after all that Fringed chaps are queer. | ||

Wow, I can't tell you how many times I was told that growing up, and I always wondered myself what the heck lump it meant, but it sure didn't sound like a good thing or that what I didn't like was going to be corrected ??!! we are now a society of confused degenerates. There is nothing more stupid than someone wearing chaps, except for someone wearing them on a Sport Bike. Not only do they offer a small amount of protection, compared to full leather pants w/armor. They also look completely "Silly" They are nothing more than part of the Motorcycle costume, that Hardley Davidson wannabees dress up in. The only thing, maybe worse, is the Skull cap bandanna type thingy...or finger-less meshed leather gloves with long tassles. | ||

Mike, Great link! I used to watch that Lunch with Casey all the time as a kid. A number of years ago, I worked with Lynn Dwyer's son. Lynn unfortunately died of a heart attack back in the mid to late 70's (I think). Casey Jones (Roger Leonard Awsumb) died this past July. He worked as a radio host during his later years up in the Brainard area. Incredible amount of TV history. | ||

And then again we tget the costume deal....how is a Harley rider wearin chaps any different from the sportbike poser wearing the full leathers, woh has 1" chicken strips on his tires, maybe 1200 whole miles on the bike & never ever see's a track of any type yet constantly talks about what a great rider they are & how they can lock up the rear brake to go around corners? Josh - I see where you are coming from, but I wouldn't take offense to someone calling me an asshole or something. I would consider the source (Decide if they know what the hell they are talking about) and then either blow it off or decide if I have a character flaw that I should change. A homosexual person will automatically be on the defensive if called gay by someone if there's a chance it could have been meant negatively. Any gay person you know probably knows you as a person who isn't negative towards it. The whole point is though, in the context of this thread, gay had nothing to do with homosexuality. Until someone decided to take a bit of offense to it anyway... I suppose I used a broad statement when I shouldn't have though, you are correct, not ALL gay people would take offense but a good deal would. Just FYI, I'm not the type to associate any 4-letter words with gay. I don't just espouse my views to whoever might be listening for reaction's sake. I'll tell someone exactly how I feel if asked though. Anyway, nuff said. | ||

Unlike these idiot clowns that go to the HD dealer and buy, and wear HD from head to toe. I ride My bike Fast, and try to push my self every chance I get.
