Ray is just lucky that he wasn't attacked by the indigenous, and even deadlier, "Sasq-Squash"!!! We would still be picking up the pieces of him had he turned the corner and met up with this hombre...

My apologies, Ray (and fellow Blastards)...I couldn't help myself.
Boredom is a terrible thing...Anyone interested in what "The Bagels and Lox-ness Monster" looks like?

Actual 2010 production bike "Phantom"
I thought this looked good for a replica

But does it come in street legal form?

From time to time I see these replibikes and often they are for 'novelty use only', not street legal, just to look good in somebody's garage or at a vintage bike meet where you can get away with riding them.

What would be cool is if the MAC bikes found their way onto HD/"Buell" showroom floors, just like the Roehr has.

I don't know, here is where I seen it at

http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/2010models/2 010models-Phantom.htm

more than likely 'novelty use only', it would be cool to have a street legal Blast like that though.

I forget to mention, it is very nice. There are few custom Blasts in the same vain and street legal (barely). All the parts are available to build your own!

One of my pet peeves is the custom motorcycles that grace the cover and pages of magazines that can never be (legally) ridden on the street. Its much easier to build a kickbutt custom if you dont have to bother with lights and such. Sure, some customs are legal in spirit only, but without lights you're not going to get far. A bike you cant ride is just art. Fine for some, but I cant afford that kind of art!

I agree with you, they should be made to ride first. That's why I can't see spending allot of money on Chrome, you end up spending more time waxing & polishing than riding. I guess I like more the old look, never cared for the fat tire cookie cutter chopper look.
Maybe now the Blast will be considered a vintage classic.

An S1W 97 in white is art - declared by the Louvre, and you can ride the shit out of it - it is legendary for that kind of treatment. And while the legendary Black and Gold XBR was stunning, it still did not match the S1W in total overall beauty.

The new 2011 blast? I wish! 960 cc's supercharged and NOS. Pulled 160 at Bonneville Salt Flats, all with one little piston. Roger Goldammer created this goldmember, and won the World Championship of Custom Bike Building.

Thats some thump!

Did the Ancestry of the Blast/XB Engine start in 1929? This is what I came across doing research on the K-Model H-D.

I knew a guy way back when that had an old K Model Rat bike...man that thing was rough...but he toured all over the country with it. Beyond the fact that is is a harley V-twin...there is nothing in common.

This is what I was talking about.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harley-Davidson_Sport ster

The Sportster, the 45" R, D, G & W Models 1929-–3 side-valve motors, and the 'Big Twin' side-valve motors, which were: the flathead 74 cubic-inch (1213 cc) Models V , VL etc. (1930–1936), Models U and UL (1937–1948), and the 80 cubic-inch (1311 cc) Models VH and VLH (1935–1936), Models UH and ULH (1937–1941) have four separate cams, sporting one lobe per cam.

This is developed from the earlier 45 W model, but with the revised engine and new 4-speed transmission contained in the same castings as would become the Sportster. The connecting rods would be inherited by the Sportster along with many other design features and dimensions.

Model KH and KHK 1954–1956: 885 cc side-valve engines, using the 45 model bore, but with the stroke increased to 4.5625" (115.89 mm). This is the only small twin with a longer stroke than 3.8125", which is otherwise universal to the entire 45/K/Sportster line from 1929 to the present (exception: XR750, XB9 Buell).

Sportsters released in 2004 and later use rubber isolation mounts and tie links to limit engine movement to a single plane, which greatly reduces vibration felt by the rider. Buell motorcycles built with variants of the Sportster engine have used a rubber mount system since 1987.

well I guess I am about to commit some blastphemy...

I am going back to a Kawasaki Ninja!!
We are "re-buying" a Ninja 500 that we sold to a friend a few months back and he is taking my Blast as a trade.
No money involve, straight trade so it a good deal for everybody.

I did not think I would be affected by the tasteless publicity stunt pulled by Buell in the last few weeks but I am.

so Goodbye Buell and Hello again Kawasaki.

So sad to see you've gone green and red

I had planned a more Buell-like response, but you're apparently still stinging from the 'send off' you got a couple weeks ago.
I have noticed more Blasts going up for sale in the last couple weeks and in the middle of summer too: ( But I'm not surprised.

PS If you didnt get the point yet, we're not that cool

Don't cube me, bro!
