The Griso is definitely a beautiful machine. I'm surprised that there aren't more former Buell/EBR owners ending up on Guzzis. Not just for the qualities Al mentioned, but also because of the beautiful styling and panache that Italian motorcycles seem to exude. Also, Guzzis are also Different In Every Sense.
That black and red paint is about as magnificent a paint scheme as I have ever seen.
Al, if you have some time to wait, I will give you a closed loop controller for the heated grips. So no exposed switches or anything, it's just warm when you want it. Works great with the polly heater cartridges.
Only visible part (other than the wires for the polly cartridges) will be a thermistor with a pair of small wires that needs to go under a grip.
The Mrs. does indeed have one of those. Funny I can't find a picture when I need it. Here's one someone posted from the Buells in the Alps trip.
Al, you need to dump that muffler. It's as heavy as it it big! Our replacement MRP can weighed less before it was unpacked! I think the box it came in was smaller too!
"Rick, is that an old RZ 350? My Dad had the original RD 350 and that was a wild machine! Would love to ride an RZ."
Wow, I just read that and got old.
I once owned a red/white edition of the RZ, bored .40 over, with other farkles. It was like being shot out of God's own slingshot. I still miss it - it was the year they had a black box flaw, and I have always sucked at electronics.
Well I started to remake the pipes out of stainless steel to go up and through the chassis to retain full wheel travel and ground clearance. That will require new carbs, remote rear shock, etc. which isn't cheap. Then the lady's car broke down which we replaced with a cool Nissan Leaf. So bike funds have been diverted for a little while but hopefully the cheapness of the new car will enable it to come back better than before in a timely fashion.
Haven't been around for a while: life. Had to go get a comfort machine. Wifey's idea.

Uly with lots of spare parts from American Sport Bike. A thousand dollar investment in parts is a lot cheaper than a $20K bike. Maybe Al will post that parts list if you ask him nicely.
