About the same but due to the longer header a bit more power.

Probably the most durable - if you keep up the finish - power between the Pro-series and the V&H, Loud, however, if you hook up the D&D can with the Jardine/WB header - your booking almost as good as the legendary Force system.

cuz as of right now someone is offering me a used D&D system for 50 bucks.... and i figure if i cant get that i will go with the other... funny tho everyone on here likes the jardine(wich has your vote and your the blast guru) and everyone one on my other buell forum said hands down the v&h and then i meantioned how you said the jardine and this lady that is very knowledgeable said "Yes, Ed Z***, from San Francisco, is THE Blast guru. He has made more mods to Blast Maul and Blast Vader than probably even Eric Buell ever thought possible. His advice is always excellent." lol so i take it she knows you (left out the letters of your last name just incase you didnt want anyone knowing it lol

Get the D&D system - you'd have a back up header that would totally fit the D&D can and you can match that can up to the Jardine header easily for a no maintenance system - just wipe the whole thing with WD once a week to prevent rust and clean - just remember to mount the Jardine system with the stock lower front hardware - just as you would with the D&D anyway - a Jardine header and a D&D can spells almost Force like power - a really great and more reliable combination - than either alone (and probably more reliable than the Force as well - though mine is doing well so far).

Well, I guess this is as good of a time as any to jump in. I picked up a 2002 Blast last month and have been actively reading the Thumper threads trying to figure out how to fix her up. I will try to do a post this weekend with all my mods...but the topic is about exhausts.

So I was going to do the Jardine with quiet core insert...when my friend Odie offered to modify the stock muffler for me.

It looks like he just cut off the corner of the exhaust outlet, allowing more airflow to escape.

I wouldn't know how to compare this with the aftermarket exhaust systems, but I can compare it to the stock setup.

It pretty much looks stock, but after swapping out the exhaust, doing EZ's air box mod, and adding the K&N filter...this is a way different bike now. It doesn't sound much different at idle, but when you get on it she screams with a sweet sounding "Blat Blat". The performance was much better, but since I did several mods at once...I can't really say how much difference it would have made by itself.

I told my wife that the Blast was for her to use this summer...but shhhhhh...it is really another addition to my Buell collection (2)!

That is excellent "THINKING OUT OF THE BOX" !!!

Your "SWAN OEM MUFFLER" has the "TRUE" sleeper look ...

You just saved yourself some BIG $$$.$$ by just doing this simple "PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT" ...

"i" put a same size outlet hole on the RIGHT SIDE with kick outs which really makes the OEM Muffler look like a "SWAN" ...

I am new to the forum. I got a 2009 buell blast. It seems like Jardine header and a D&D can is the way to go. I am about to place an order for the header and the can. Do I need to buy anything else for this mod? I don't want to open up the system and realize I need clamps, gaskets, etc. Thanks

Since you aren't buying a whole system, so you're bound to need a few things that would have been included if you bought the whole system. Not much, but you might have to wait until your orders of pipe and can come in.

I don't remember if the Jardine headline has the front bracket welded to it. You'll need that. Generic parts works fine and are easy to buy.
You'll need the rear muffler mount. Again I can't remember if it is welded to the D&D can.
You might ask D&D to include the rear mount.
Ask Jardine to include the front hanger. You won't need the mounting bushing etc., because you'll use the stock hardware.
You'll need a gasket. Again, Jardine might include one with the header pipe. If you must buy a gasket, any Harley Evo gasket will work. Don't buy a fancy race gasket that is merely a semi soft large washer, it will leak with this application. All compressed mesh type are fine (though some have their
You might have to buy some bolts, but the stock system should yield usable nuts and bolts.

follow the repair manual for torque down and installation. Better is if someone has the D&D or Jardine instructions. (Or White Brothers or V&H-same general procedure).

I can answer for the D&D can - it does have the rear mount welded to the can for a very easy install.

I can't answer for the Jardine header, though...

and pm me when you start the installation. I just installed the D&D system in April/May last year and I learned a LOT of lessons. Erik has given you what you need to buy. That being said, I would buy new bolts - easily available at the dealer...as is the gasket.
