Performance Mods!: | Frankenstein'd & Trapp'd Kerker exhaust, SE adjustable ignition, 48/180 jets, SE slide spring, Pro-Series intake, XB Cams |
Problems/Miles (Please be specific): | bought @ 4100 miles; heat shield had come off tank and melted on rocker box cover. Leaky oil-return O-ring, clutch engagement sometimes jerks from a stop - like it goes a little then suddenly grabs hard. Changed tranny oil, adjusted primary & clutch, but problem persists. shifting often clunky, rear tires go bald down the middle pretty quick, leaving a \__/ shaped tire - may be due to skinny rear wheel! wear on front tire is even. Belt broke about 10K. Carb connector is not strong enough for PS intake - for the price, it should include a connctor with nylon cord reinforcement or something. |
Other Mods/Misc/Customization.: | yellow back half of seat from previous owner, Berkshire Widget plate-style handlebars, bar-end mirrors, "chunky" levers trimmed for 2-finger use, metro tank bag, highlit black cylinder & head |
Favorite Rides (Roads and Routes): | The 3 Sisters (Leakey TX), Various twisty roads NW of Houston, Thurman Bend Rd. (Spicewood TX) |
Why I do/don't ride a Buell: | corners are FUN! Research pointed to Blast as a perfect 1st road bike, and after 2 years I still heartily agree! |
How can Buell improve their motorcycles?: | Adjustable preload & dampening front & rear, higher compression ratio, make all SE cams 1/2 price for Blast, Higher intake port & better manifold/head port match, XB style quench chamber, valves & springs, use cylinder w/ thicker spigot so cases will be ready to accept big-bore jug, smaller Blast pro-series rear sprocket, spun aluminum pushrod tubes & billet Pegasus base! wider rear wheel for wider/lower tire profile less wear down the middle... and A TACH!!! |
