Here I sit with a month old Uly staring at the 08's!
Buyers remorse set in almost at once and left almost as quick. : )
While there are a few improvements I'd like to incorporate my Uly is just too much fun to feel bad about.
I'm run her till she wears out (not likely) or till I fall in love with something different (more likely).
I don't see myself w/o a Uly in my stable. They're just too competent in too many ways.
OK, rant over. Thanks for bearing with me.

I feel your pain... I got my new 12R three weeks ago, just got the 1st 1000 miles on her and then the 1125 is released... oh well
life happens. but I know how you feel.. the 1125 would be an awesome bike to have, but my 12R is a great bike all the same. plus I am sure there will be some bugs to work out of the new bike anyways... that makes it easier to sleep @ night.. I guess

Yeah, probably wouldn't be a good idea to get the 1st run of the new bike anyway... you know how it goes with all-new vehicles and the "kinks" that come with them.

I've had my "lightly" used Longhorn about 3 weeks. My BMW is pouting from the lack of attention.

I'm quite happy with the sportster lump and still exited about the prospect of getting a timing cover with a snake and eagle on it!

I think I'm going to be able to pick up a CityX or XB12SS pretty cheap...Real soon. I've already got a XB12R, but I've been wanting something more rider and street friendly as a daily rider. Think I'll put the 12R on the track once I get a Lightning.

I do wish I had the 08 Thunderbolt engine in my 07 Lightning. It has what seem to be really good improvements in key areas, but this sort of thing always happens. It's just not worth letting it bother you too much, especially if your current bike is fun and trouble free.

I was surprised to see that the plastic colors on the Lightning didn't change and they also brought back the black for the Firebolt.

I have to say I like the "gold" exhaust pipes a lot better than the "silver" pipes on the 08s.

Dont get me started, I am still fuming over the TT coming out almost a year to the date that I converted my CityX for more off pavement riding. Had they had that bike when I was ready to pull the trigger.... : |

My only gripe with the purchase of my new 12R is the fact that they dropped the price right away to $9995.00 : (

What are the changes to the 1200 engine for 08??

I got my 2001 S3 and loved it from the first moment I got it OUT of city traffic.

In 2003 when the XB came out, it didn't change the way the S3 handled, performed or made me feel in the twisties.

Still have the S3 and it's my long distance mount.

Probably will still feel the same to me this week even though the 1125R has been announced.

Oh within the year, I'll probably end up with an 1125 beast regardless. Dunno if it'll be flogged on the track or street. Don't know how much forgiveness I can expect out of Sunny.
