I am having some problems finding a decent full face to fit my melon, which measures out at 65 or 66 cm. According to the charts I should fit a 3xl, but many shops don't carry anything in that size so I probably won't be able to try it on before ordering.

So far in 3xl I have seen (on the net) Scorpion EX400, HJC CLSP, HJC CL15, Arai Profile (maybe), and the Fuller Modus.

Which maker makes them slightly larger then stated, and which makes them slightly smaller then stated, in your opinion? Anyone know of any other big sized helmets?

The only other option I can see is finding a big store that has a lot of helmets and going to try them on. So far I have called just about everywhere within 50 miles and no luck though.

This is no simple problem, because in addition to the size question, there is the equally important matter of shape.

The only thing that worked for me was waiting until the International Motorcycle show came to town.

Several manufacturers had a complete line of models and sizes, and I was finally able to find one that fit my XL long oval head: Arai Profile.

I can pretty much guarantee you that you won"t find just what you need at ANY dealer: it just isn't economically feasible to carry that much inventory.

At least one On-Line dealer, Helmet City, offers an exchange program so you can order an Arai, and if it doesn't fit, you can exchange for another as long as it is still like new.

If you get a chance try a Shoei, size for size they seem large to the other brands. I have a large head and also need a lot of front area. The Shoei is the only one that fits me good..............Charlie

I managed to find a place 70 miles away with a Shoei RF-1000 3xl that I got to try on before someone else bought it. It fits.

Are the Scorpions and HJC sized the same or smaller in your opinion?

I have a hard time finding helmets that fit, too. Flip-up chin-bars seem to help.
I found a Vega that fit - It's cheap and feels that way.
I currently have a Nolan N102. It fits great, really comfortable. It's noisy, though. Not only wind, but it seems to magnify the airbox noise.
I haven't seen a Nolan at any of the generic motorsports shops, I got it from a BMW dealer.

Scorpion helmets run small. I wear a large in every other size, XL in Scorpion. They have a reputation for small sizing. That means you'd need a XXXXL Exo 400!

I'm dying to crack some joke about your gargantuan noggin', but I can't think of anything good at the moment. I'll get back to ya later.
