I wonder if the dealers will do the 'bag deal' when they have the demo fleet there at their dealerships???

Blubak

All American HD in Mechanicsville, MD will have their Buell open House next Saturday, April 17th.

On May 1st HD of Frederick/WIlliamsport will have their Sportfest/Battle of the Bikes in Williamsport, MD (by Hagerstown), I'm sure they will have Buells along with a bunch of other bikes that day.

On May 7-9, Baltimore HD/Buell will have the whole Buell Demo Truck.

Check out our calendar at dcbrag.org

So you have more chances

Looks like my dealer, South Valley HD/Buell, in Salt Lake City, UT will not be participating in this promotion.
Bummer!
They are still pretty good even though this sucks.

HOLY COW!
The Buell web site now lists 3 participating dealers in my area! Looks like I can get a packpack now. WOHOO! : )

(I know for a fact one of these dealers doesn't have a Buell demo, what the heck are they gonna have me ride?)

Stopped by my local dealer yesterday and he won't be participating. Said he didn't have any demo bikes as they were sold out. I honestly got the feeling that he was lying.

Demo ride!!! yeah right! Do the HD dealers realize Buell is part of the product line??? If so... why do you have to go in and hunt someone down who wants to recognize Buell as something to make an effort about? Then advise them of the promotions, so they can look to see of there is a box of Buell stuff someplace in the back room.

I have a XB9S... wanna ride a XB12S to consider if I am happy where I am at... or do I want to have a goal of moving into a XB12S...

So...

First attempt...

"We don't know anything about the demo ride! No we are not participating."

next dealer

"We know about the promotion but we don't have a demo bike." (no demo bike of any model)

next dealer

"There was something about the promotion... but due to insurance we can't do demo rides! We will have to look if a box arrived!"

I want two things... I wanna ride a XB12S... and if Buell wants to give them away... I wanna back pack!

QUESTION... Does Buell sent the give aways to dealers without a dealer making a request to participate?

QUESTION... Does the dealer have to pay for the goodies given away?

QUESTION... What's it gonna take for someone to get a clue?

I vented... I will be ok in a little bit!!!!!

I wandered down to American yesterday and took a XB12S out for a spin. Never ridden a 12 or an S.

The view on a S is spectacular - you have to look down to even know you're on a bike. Very easy to turn, seemed easier than my Firebolt to gett settled into a corner, probably a factor of the higher/wider bars. The seating position is quite comfortable, though that stock seat blows. I could definitely see adding one to the garage. oddly enough though, I think I'd still take the Firebolt for longer rides.

The motor was very smooth and the power curve seemed very similar to the 9 - but it didn't seem all that much morer ballsy than my 9R. Now, I haven't ridden my Firebolt in 6 months, so take that one with a grain of salt.

When I got back Spidey was like, "Man when you go for a demo ride, you really go for a DEMO ride!" Apparently I was gone for about a half hour and 25+ miles. Heehee...

Oh, and the pack is sweet - it'll be my carry-on luggage on my last tour of duty in Japan.

I took the test ride this afternoon at Chosa's in Mesa. They were really cool about it. The rep told me it had a full tank of gas so I didn't have to worry about it. Told me to have fun and sent me off!! I was surprised actually, didn't tell me how long or how far to go. So I took a good 20 min. ride or so. I tested a 12R. I enjoyed it, just thought the pegs were a bit tight, but that's probably just from being used to my "S". Those things are so much fun, I couldn't stop smiling
I would consider converting to the "R" model before buying any other type of sport bike... then I could always go back to the higher bars. The only thing was that they told me they were out of the bags already. He took my number and said he'd call me when they got more. I didn't tell him I owned a Buell already though... darn it!

QUESTION... Does Buell sent the give aways to dealers without a dealer making a request to participate?

Dealers had to sign up for the promotion.

QUESTION... Does the dealer have to pay for the goodies given away?

Yes and no. The dealer gets reimbursed for the bags they give away as long as they send the surveys back to Buell on time.

QUESTION... What's it gonna take for someone to get a clue?

I don't have an answer for this one, I wish I did.

Ride to the edge!

GOT MY BAG TODAY!

Salesman at dealer "X" was a little reluctant to let a 9R owner demo a 9R for a free bag (the only Buell demo they have). They want to give the bags to potential converts. Fair enough.

Me: "You might be able to talk me into a 12 if you had one to demo. Don't make me go to Dealer Y for a free bag"

Sales Dude: "Dealer Y is 37 miles away"
Me: "I rode to Canada for a free T-shirt"

SD: "Let me get the bike"

One of our local BRAG members was there (also trying to get free the bag), he was kind enough to let me ride his own 12S while he was on the dealers demo 9R and the Sales Dude was on his personal 9R (pulling some monster wheelies leading the demo!)

We got our bags. Thank you Sales Dude! : )

(I may go back Saturday to burn gas out of their demo V-ROD)

As DasXB9s pointed out, what a bummer out of atleast 4 dealers within a few miles of the KC Metro not one opertunity available for a Demo ride and the free promo bag. I really would like to ride the 12R myself. I have rode both the 9 & 12S but would like to try the bolt! The free buell goodies are without a doubt my main goal but I do want the ride too c'mon dealers! : |

Ill HD/Buell (Chicagoish) was damn near grabbing riders off the street to give em demo rides . . . . . bags at the ready, btw . . . . .

never had a problem getting a demo ride at Uke's either (south of Milwaukee), except once, when I showed up asking to demo a 12S . . .. the owner said "uh, no!" . . ..

Of course, it was run what ya brung nite at Union Grove Dragway that night, and he knows me pretty well {grin} . . .. . I woulda said "not only no, but HELL NO!"
