The switch is for the heated grips. Now an option on 2008 models, I was slightly a head of my time. The heated grips are worth the investment. I'll be looking at refitting to the stock switch. I like a clean spartan look and my dash is not there yet.

This bike pull real hard, more than enough bike for me. No NOS for awhile.

The equal length header may smooth things out a little. Mostly the longer pipe improves exhaust scavenging. Basically it looks cool, sounds good and works great.

Nice! Love the lights and flyscreen. But why'd you lower the seat pan? If the Uly tail swap stands a chance of making wheel contact, that one surely does.

Looks like I've got the same heated grips as you. I love em'. What mirrors did you get and how do you like them. The ones I switched to suck. I might as well not have them on at all.

I like the Zumo mod, esp since it has the gas "gauge o meter" function. Always prefer the graphic over the low fuel light. Plus it adds tunes, and gps. Nice mod, not cheap but definitely gets me thinking.

I got my XBRR dampener for ~400 IIRC.

I have a question about your dampener though. Did you lose any range of motion when you put yours on?

When I went to put mine on, it limited how much I could move my bars side to side. I took it off and haven't mess with it since. Let me know, maybe I did something wrong.

Very nicely done.

All the details add up to a new classic.

Can't wait to see what you are going to do with the "timing cover"

The seat pan is as close to stock as I could fabricate from aluminum. Big piece of plastic is now metal. That is really where I'm going with the bike lose plastic get metal.

The Dampener was about $400.

Jim, There are two damper kits. I'll bet you have the wrong one. The older XB's and the Scg have smaller forks. mine is a Scg.

The frame puck covers are from American Sport Bike.

The mirrors are CRG Lane splitters. They fold back if you tap a car, which I have done. As mirrors they are fine. I like them.

I'm thinking of using aircraft anunciator lights in place the idiot lights. anyone with a cool idea speak up.

Where did you pick up those clip-ons?
Are they Buell specific or are they a universal type?

The clip-ons are made by cross-roads. They are universal by given diameter as I recall. There is allot of work to making them fit. I removed the handle bar saddles from the top triple tree, cut out the sides of the instrument module, installed R-model throttle cables, and rerouted the clutch cable.

I think it would by easier to space out the instrument module the way Trojan did on the XB cafe racer.

I can't find a link for crossroads. They my be out of business. American Sport Bike acquired their Buell product line.

Al's also got a pretty cool timing cover for the finish on yer right side, or a stick-on polished aluminum piece would work nice...can't figure your rear turn signals??

nice job bro! I'm also in the process of polishing various parts of my 04 S. How shiny are the headers? I am thinkin about sending mine to Al for that shiny coating but I want to be sure they can be maintained as 'hurt yer face' shiny.

Nice work. I really like that header pipe and gave it some thought but at about 1k it was a bit too much to swallow.

The rear turn signals are LED and are integrated in the sides of the tail light. it also has white LED license plate lights if you cut the cheese just right and place your plate under it. I also have a tail blazer unit that flashes the tail light in a in progressively longer flash as you hold the brake. All that from American Sport Bike. I will look for the polished timing cover.

Now it is time to share the credit Terry Parsley of JT&S Performance at Infineon race way, sears point. He did the custom ECM map and made it work.

What does your butt have to say about that seat ? I'm considering one for mine.

My butt says, the seat it's a major improvement over the Scg seat. If you like the HD heritage of the bike, cut the cheese so you can see the wide tire and put one of these wide butt saddles on and many people will see HD right off.

I'm all of 29" of inseam, so I had them take some padding taken out of the sides and move the bake of the pilot seat forward an inch.

+ seat back in better position relative to my size and low bars. It looks better.
+ long rides not an issue.
+ seat is major improvement for passenger.
+ all around it looks kind of cool.
