I have now replaced the boot. Issue is still happening, runs like a champ for 5-15 miles. Then when bike is stopped and needs to be jumped, that's when problems start. Speedo doesn't work, signals don't work, weak power, eventually bike loses power. I'm thinking it is for sure an electrical issue. I do remember when I bought the bike, previous owner said he replaced speedo, I will check grounds, harnesses, crunchy wires, etc. thanks so far fellas....stay tuned

Are you saying you have a dead battery? If the battery is in that bad a shape, it's not surprising nothing works.

Voltage Regulator - If your stator went south any point in time, it likely fried your voltage regulator.

When was the last time you had the battery load tested? Autozone and O'reilly's do it for free.

I replaced my voltage regulator about a month ago. After I had replaced my stator. Prior to replacing the regulator I had the battery tested. Tested good but cca was at 40. I trickle charge for a week or so and had the battery tested again. 205 cold crank amps.

How old is the battery?

It wouldn't hurt to spend a couple minutes and probe your stator plug again and verify there's not continuity to ground from either pole.

Before you start it, measure voltage across the battery terminals, you should have ~12.4V then check it again while it's idling, you should see 13.8V-14.4V across the terminals. If you are not, then either your VR or battery are bad.

While it's running, disconnect the battery. If the engine stays running then your battery is the culprit (your idle should improve when disconnecting a bad battery), if the engine dies immediately then the VR is your issue.

If both the stator and VR are bad, but you don't replace them together, it's very possible to fry the newly-installed part since the two work together.

Do the above to check your VR and stator in the same sitting.
