I know of many folks who have had this man modify their seats, but I was wondering if anyone here has had a Blast seat done? I sent my Tiger seats off to him last week and should be getting them by the end of the week.

Spencers Motorcycle Seat Mods

Patty's looking at riding to Jasper, AR with me from Kansas City in October. I'm really worried about her comfort on the blast for a ride of that length. She prefers the riding position of the low seat, and it doesn't have as much padding as the standard seat.

I know there are other seats and modifications available, but this guys prices and reported performance can't be beat in the opinion of a lot of riders.

So... any Blast riders with a Spencer's MOD review?

I think you'll be the first! See how your Tiger seats work out and that should be a good indication of how your Blast seat will turn out (Blast seat is fairly simple).
Keep us posted!

The problem is the cost. I couldn't justify buying a Corbin or Sargent's for my Triumph, not knowing how it was going to work out in the end. I'm having even bigger problems justifying it for the blast, which will very likely see very few rides.

This was Spencer's response:

"Yes, I have had the opportunity to work on the Blast seat and honestly, because of its ridiculously soft and unsupportive stock foam there is very little to be gained. I will work on them but If you really want to increase your comfort the best thing you could do is to replace the seat in its entirety with an aftermarket alternative."

For those of you that have ridden long distance on the low seat, how long would you say it's good for? I'd really like her to be able to ride with me to Jasper on her own two wheels.

Thanks EZ, I'd love to throw someone local some business but that's a pricey seat!

Bring Patty and the bike to see me. A comfortable butt is a happy butt. You do want her happy, don't you? LOL

I got the same answer from Spencer's. I would re-do one myself, but I don't know what materials would be best: first I would want to rip out the thick, soft foam, then build it back up almost all the way, then wrap the top layer(s) with gel or some other space-age stuff, like some of the seat-modifying guys use.
