Looks like we have little hope of a 2008 compatible version of ECMSpy. http://www.ukbeg.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file= viewtopic&p=407547#407547 --- 08Uly Uly Data Page

I had my '08 X flashed Tuesday. The bike seemed to run just the same as before and now I've put two tanks through it I'm getting 40mpg and 41 mpg respectively. The 3mph speedo error is now present when it was dead perfect before. So far the MPG is a diappointment but otherwise "Huckleberry" is a winner.NUTS |

My wife had her '08 XB12Ss reflashed, and her last tank full gave her 48 MPG; up 6 from 42. she also says her bike runs smoother at low RPMs. I'm having mine done this week; I hope I see similar results. |

I took my Uly to the MSF range today. First time since the re-flash. HUGE difference! Greatly improved low rpm throttle management and much smoother running at low (2000 rpm)speed. Mark in Arizona |

It looks to me like neither the fuel maps or the timing charts have changed at all. No difference according to ECMSpy but that also could be it's inability to read the new eeprom correctly. Hard to tell since it's unsupported. --- 08Uly Uly Data Page

That's such a crock of shit. Seriously, how hard can this possibly be? They have to get DT updates somehow. I can't imagine there is a HD dealership anywhere that has never, ever had to get new software for their Digital Technicians. Go and d/l the @^@%%^ software and hook the stupid thing up to the bike, for crying out loud. |

i had a bit of deodorant failure while ago.. i was feeling a little bored, so i called customer service again, since its been a month or two since my last inquiry..after about a fifteen minute wait, i got hold of debra and explained that i had called before and she pulled my reference number.. she said that she didnt know what else to do, if i felt the bike was running too lean.. i said that was just a guess on my part, as the dealer had reflashed it and said he was out of options.. the bike did run pretty good on the way home after the reflash, but the next day it ran as usual.. she said that she would ask an engineer, if he knew of any new updates later, she returned to tell me that he offered no solutions and if the bike was running lean like i thought then epa rules must prevail...i again told her that the running lean was just a personal assessment and i wanted a professional solution... she said that she would have the dealer look at it again, but that was that...so the saga continues.. |

I'm new to the forum and to Buell having had 2 Sportsters prior to my Uly and have dealt with the same dealer throughout my previous 2 bikes. Given their honesty and reputation I don't think they would mislead me. Having said that I took Uly in today for the 1K service and asked them about the re-flash. As they had 2 weeks ago they repeated no knowledge of this procedure but called Buell while I was there. Buell states that this number M31US25y is for the 1125 and not the XB12. Furthermore if my dealer did re-flash my ecm with this number it would void my warranty and could even damage the bike. Buell even further by called me personally to explain this. It was stated by Buell that there is NO re-flash available at all. My bike was built in June of this year and is supposed to be up to date. Can someone please tell me where this code originated and how it was ever applied to the Ulysses? Thanks. Bob |
