Electrical problems often act very much like fuel problems. And I've said this before but it bears repeating... Damn thats a nice looking XB you've got! Nothing I like more than pictures of old car graveyards or bikes in pieces! Nice in black, but the green XB is still my favourite (the best looking XB I've seen). Check out Ralphs greeting for his group - PLEASE READ >NOTE- just Three simple rules in this Group. 1)No SPAM of any kind. 2)No disrespect of the Group Founder- "Ralph". 3)No mention of, or links to- competing Groups or websites(eg-Bedwetterbikers). Side note, please introduce yourself with your first post, as it helps give others (who may reply) -a little background, thanks ! Welcome to the "The-Buell-Blast" group. Please take a moment to review this message. Note- that this Group at times, may experience High Volume posting. So please set your "post" delivery options to fit your needs. You may simply want to JUST view the Posts from the site, instead of getting them delivered via email ? If you already own a Buell Blast, then we can handle ANY questions you may have about this little bike. BUT, IF you are contemplating the purchase of a Buell Blast, please ASK to find out- all the Pros and Cons on this bike, before buying one. This Bike isn't like most other bikes on the market, and it's not for everyone ! The Buell Blast is kind of a quirky/little beginners sportbike, that alot of people start out with, but quickly outgrow. It's not very fast, and even with alot of Engine hop-up items, it's still not going to be a threat to any *REAL* sportbikes, which the "Blast" was never intended to do -or Be ! For some- once the "Newbie" thrill wear off, alot of Blast owners regret their decision in buying one, especially when they start demo riding other/faster bikes.(NOTE- just riding a couple 1000 miles on any bike, doesn't give you enough experience to move up to bigger/faster bikes, we've seen this happen before with tragic consequences!) And I must warn you, that the Buell Blast has a dismal resale value, and anyone buying a Brand NEW Blast, and thinking of later trading it in, or re-selling, well....you're in for quite a Shock ! Anyhow- welcome to our little Group :-) ~Ralph (Yahoo Group Founder) PS-this Group is MORE than JUST an Email List, it's a WEBSITE Is this site turning into an ani-Blast site - he moderates posts, and deletes them when they don't fit his point of view, and yet was one of the first to cry censorship - lol - this guy used to be pretty sharp, but all I see lately is power tripping and rudeness, no honest help, and you better not disagree - lol GT - JBOTDS! So nothings changed and its always been an anti Blast, anti Buell, anti Harley site. To sum up the greeting: If you're stupid enough to have bought a Blast, then this sites for you! lol This is to inform you that you have been banned from "The-Buell-Blast" Yahoo Group, due to some of your postings, actions or uploads, being deemed inappropriate for this group. Your being banned was at the sole discretion of the owner, or moderator of this group. We do NOT tolerate your actions, postings or uploads. There is no appeal to this decision.... like I would or ever have - I am now the world champ of being banned from that group - yet I have about a dozen back ups sitting there for this occasion as I did in the past - its old - some folk just don't learn and thats ironic, because people are supposed to be able to learn and adapt - lol - however, since this is the last year for the Blast production - in all probability - its really a moot point - funniest part is - I built that group so some of the info in it could be shared and now I'm banned! I'm sorry, I just went over there again and the message threads are not in any organized structure, they are very hard to follow. I realize it is the way the Yahoo postings go but this is a much more user friendly forum. |

Awe - its ok, BADWEB has always been a friendly place, and for sarcasm SACBORG is king, I have active membership in all the Buell boards and in a bit I'll open a group that directs conversation here but holds large files and pictures there. That would also keep the BADWEB clean of such hassles yet allows a place for large files - like pics of my bike and such - lol - GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

Hey Jim N. - how was the ride on the 1125R? Hey Ed, I wrote something about it on the 3% page: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=37&post=971794#POST971794 I'm not going to be buying one, it's not a replacement for either the Uly or the Blast, which fit my riding styles much better. But out on a track it was a great bike. They did a good job with everything. Robin was out there on her Blast. BTW, I have a question for you. All the XBs got helical cut transmission gears in 06. I think the Sportster got them as well. I think the Blast is still using straight cut gears. This seems a bit odd to me. It would seem like it would cost more to have one model with different gears than everyone else, rather than using the same everywhere. Any comments? |

Works great, so far so good. I think I need a longer clutch cable; it is a little too short now that the tach is there. It doesn't prevent full range steering, but will pull ever so slightly on right turns. LOL that will get some traffic to the dark side! |

They have to keep tuber parts around for so long - the Blast is/was a way of doing that for the tranny - the only difference being the trap door - so any updated tranny part for the tuber would go on the Blast and visa versa. Yeah - and the bright side to my group is you don't have to talk to Ralph! - lol Robin's looking good - did she do the Melvis rearset mod on her bike - her feet look higher up for some reason. Hey, caught a bit of comment about the last year of production "in all probability." What's next? I would think Buell will still produce a small Blast-like bike if only to supply the Rider's Edge programs. Any scuttlebutt going around? Half of a Helicon engine, p'raps? (That would make it the Heli, right?) Speak to me fellow Blasters, make me feel good about my 500cc piston! |

Rainman - There have been rumors about it being the last year of the Blast for the last three years. It's still here. If you stick around long enough, the rumor will eventually become true. |

They are comming out with a dirt single next year, perhaps even a supermoto - thus there would be competing singles - I would bet money that this is the Blasts last year. GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

EZ, so Ralph is still around, huh? I booted him from the Yahoo XB group once or twice. Very interesting fellow, though. I'll be very surprised if the Blast goes into 2009. That would be 10 years of manufacture if Buell carries it out. I had a '00 model, the first year. |
