S'up Beullers,Really enjoy the posts and enthusiasm here,not to mention the brother/sister hood.Has anyone tried an oil cooler install on the "B"? Would a bigger Buell oil cooler do?Say..installed under the horn?What about a feul system cleaner in gas,and what brand?STP,Gumout to counter act the head pressure tube effect? Nice fairing MA,what part # at the WHIT? |

I have seen pictures of some Blasts with oil coolers. The Blast really doesnt need one, but a bigger Buell one would work (actually the 'XBlast' uses one). I'm not really sure what you mean by "counter act the head pressure tube effect". You do have to be careful what you use in the gas tank because its plastic. I think most cleaners would be okay but... |

Gearman,I dont know if im gettin the rite wording down,the tube in front of the carb vent is ...and on the oil cooler,i live in central GA...it was 97 today and we still got Aug. comin,its an air cooled bike rite? |

BHawk: I live in So California.I've ridden a modified (engine) Blast through Death Valley and we race a Blast at above redline (6500-7500 rpm)in 100+ degrees, neither time do we have a problem with knock & ping on premium gas (91). The only time I've had a problem (minor at best) was running the timing advanced in stop & go traffic in summer. The Blast runs cooler than the twins and I'd only worry about getting an oil cooler if I actually had a problem (we may however run an oil cooler on the race bike when we up the engine compression, again). I dont think fuel system cleaner in the gas will solve anything on a normal (maintained) Blast. You could use carb & choke/Gumout cleaner to clean the outside of the engine where the PCV vent leaks (rocker cover) and makes a small mess. I hope that maybe answers your questions? |

To All Hardcore Blasters There is a meet coming up in Minnesota this Saturday. It is being organised by FSSNOC (Four Stroke Singles National Owners Club.) Its no big deal, Just meet at Noon at the Backwoods restaurant in Nowthen, MN and have a meal and afterwards maybe an hour or 2 out in the parking lot looking at every one's bikes. There will be an award for who thumped the furthest to get there. Word is there is at least one member from California already on the way - last sighted in Kansas last night... I dont have any info on the sidecar except its a friend of a friends and the only one (besides of course Ray's Blast rig-but as we know, Blasts dont count)known as the other was wrecked. It was signed by Erik too, so he's seen it. Oh and its got an English rig.Velorex I think. |

Am I the only one who thinks the sidestand (kickstand?) ...should be an inch or two longer? It's perfect for parking where a hill rises up to the left, but on flat concrete I get this feeling like I'm almost laying her down on the ground. And I really don't like parking on asphalt (or dirt!) at all - with the bike leaning over so far, there is a lot of weight on the stand - it seems like it's going to sink in... that shouldn't be an issue with a 350 lb. bike! |

The new Avon arrived today(120-80-16) Not the larger Avon Viper Stryke in 140-70-16 as they were on back order and the Little Kid gets kinda winey about his bike and things not being right, like cords sticking out of the tire. I also had a friend make the wheel balancer cones for the wheel balancer I put together, Man does that work great for balancing tires....

Hey Guys! I got a problem...... The left side engine mount bolt broke. I can't seem to get my Dewalt 18v and a drill bit wiggled in between the forks, fender and frame to get to the bolt. Am I still on the right track? If not whats the proceedure? The Big Kid wants to know why the bolt is broken so he can blame it on his brother... |

i drilled it at an angle or if you have an air drill it will fit i had no problem |

I removed the tire and dropped the left fork. I got a good center punch on it and started drilling with a 1/4 inch drill, when I was just breaking through the end of the bolt the drill stuck, when I reversed the drill the remaining bolt came out on the end of the drill! First time for everything! I was planning on using a Craftsman #4 easyout. WHY DO THESE BOLTS BREAK? Is there something better to use? Hey, Spiderman, your the man of the hour over on the quick board

i went through three bolt before i found the problem in a busted motor mount replaced the mount and i have go 500 miles and no problem plus it rides like it brand new |

the main thing that i have heard on the forums is that the bolts where reused i.e. taken out and put back in stressing the bolt out maybe this is what happened |

During my early years of bus inspecting I was pointing out a cracked wheel to an old gruff mechanic. His reply was "Thats where its supposed to crack" So thinking about the engine mounting bolts breaking, if they broke off at the hex or part way out on the bolt it would be really difficult to remove the mounting bracket with out removing the engine. MY Theory: Those bolts were designed at the factory to break there. |

What grade are the zinc plated bastards that are stock? If it is anyhting less than 8 replace em also, Check your heim joints, make sure the rubber in the ends is still rigid and that there all bolted in... |

hey xgecko i have the stryke vipers and i love them they ride smooth and quiet and has the tread pattern like on a bigger sport bike and gives the rear end an entirely different look a++ in my opinion i have had them for 1000 miles strong chris |
