Just a heads up. I sent my machinist the drawing for the stenzel brace and dropping off a set of lower footpeg mounts to him as well. Will see what he can make them for and if anyone is interested will get an order going. Posting to see what kind of interest there is.

One other side note. I may be able to get him to make some frame braces as well like I had made over a year ago. I will have to see. And like before Iam not doing this to make money, just to pass along a few good sought after parts that are not being made anymore. |

In for an S1 frame brace. Is the Stenzel going to have the counter bore, or asked another way, is it necessary with the new type isolator? |

Great minds think alike but you beat me to it. I'm up for one that fits the newer isolator. Let me know what you need and I'll get a check off to you. |

Please forgive my ignorance, but what does this doohickey do? |

It lessens the load bearing on the front isolator, making it last much longer. |

I ride my M2 all year round, i fitted a stenzel bar what i noticed improve steering feel, also before the Stezel bar the motor & gearbox could move front to rear on the rubber mounting, as stock stabilisers only control side to side movement not forward to rear like the stencil does i'm happy with mine, it's original not a copy. i would not ride my m2 without now handles so much improved. |

Say it together: STENZEL. Not Stecil,Stezel or Stencil, simply Stenzel. http://www.stenzel-parts.de/14375/14321.html (Message edited by Xldevil on May 11, 2015) |

I would not waste your time or dollars on the Stenzel brace. I made the above drawing and made the part myself. My front isolator did not last any longer with the brace on. This was on my '02 S3T when I had it. |

Loren I wouldn't be making it and putting it on to make the isolator last longer. Iam looking for better handling or more vibration control. |

It certainly appears to keep the frame and engine from shifting forward and back with respect to each other, in nearly the same way that the uni-planar mounts keep them from moving side to side while still allowing them to move up and down. I don't see how it reduces vibration, but I can see how it might make the frame and engine a bit more locked together, since the front wheel and rear wheel are only joined front to back through rubber mounts, and make the bike handle better. |

I have one from Red93Stang on my bike. Seems to work great and does seem like it cuts down the vibs. I got one of his first ones which has the counterbore for the older isolator so I machined an aluminum plug and pressed it into the counterbore (to remove it) and bolted it onto my new designed isolator. So far so good. I believe he is/did remove the counterbore to allow it to work for the new ones now. I did need to order a new longer bolt. |

I got a late front rubber mount but when i saw the tiny bolt that my motor hangs from, i was not brave enough to trust it so bore the new mount out kept the big ol bolt to hangs from , it's been two years now & happy. X1devil i write Senzil & Apple puts stencil But i'm happy to have the real thing as the gent who designed & thought it himself, deserves the $. |

Have been using the Stenzil with my original 1997 front isolator for a couple of years and no tears in that isolator. |

Anyone know the center hole to center hole dimension? Also what size are the bolts if using new style front isolator? Going to have one mocked up. |

I was told by fxdrydr that he tried to buy from the guy in Germany and NO GO! So...the next best thing is to make them then. Iam going to have one made and see what it does or doesn't do. |

Yep - tried to buy one from the German firm. Numerous emails and even called. No-go. Their order page is in German and I emailed to see if they could take my card via email, or translate the page, or let me pay by check and I'd wait for it to clear, or take my order some other way. Turned into a saga. They couldn't take my credit card, wanted a money transfer from my bank. Bank wanted $150 to set that up... Then the German company asked for something else weird, bank couldn't/wouldn't do it. Like I said, became a saga over the course of maybe two weeks with me suggesting how they could take payment and them responding with weird solutions. Ended up buying one off eBay. I think the whole email chain is somewhere on a German site that posts humorous email chains where someone is screwing with someone - like that guy on Craigslist. I'm probably famous now. |
