...the problem with the US version of the Ariel is the GM motor they put in it... |

Ariel company is at the drawing board for making a two wheeled version of the Atom pictured above. The concept drawing is out of this world, but it has an electric motor! |

...the problem with the US version of the Ariel is the GM motor they put in it... Having owned of these engines myself (currently, in fact), and working in a agrage for many years, I can attest that the GM Ecotec 4 cyl is probably the most reliable engine family currently produced. And the blown versions go like hell. |

I'm guessing that's NOT what U4euh was talking about, because that's far from mind-blowing. That's an electric bicycle with an identity crisis. ~SM |

No No No, I believe it is in the latest edition of motorcyclist. I'll be home in a while and check it. Think front and rear single sided swing arm and very flat pointy fenders out front and rear. |

I love the Atom. May very well replace the 65 Shelby/AC Cobra as my ultimate dream car. Not that I'll have the scratch to buy either...<shrug> |

Records have been shattering with that little mill. |

Yup - it's not all that hard to make 300 crank hp with the 2.0L LSJ variant (supercharged model from Ion Redline and Cobalt SS) without even opening up the engine - all bolt-on stuff. This all has me thinking now... The girl got her first eye-full of a Cobra recently and wants to get one (WAYS away at this point, lol). I'm all one for putting engines in cars that don't belong there, so a little turbo 4 in a cobra kit car would be killer, AND good on gas! |

"I'm all one for putting engines in cars that don't belong there, so a little turbo 4 in a cobra kit car would be killer, AND good on gas!" Or maybe a Solstice GXP? I wanted one, but too little storage space for a daily driver, so I got a Mustang GT. Would you believe the stock GT regularly gets 25-26 mpg, including playtime? I've been impressed. ~SM |

I'm actually in the same boat - I really like the Solstice, but I'll likely end up with a new Camaro asuming they don't price the thing way too high. i have had dreams of building a cobra kit with GMC Syclone running gear or similar, turbo v6 with all wheel drive in a little cobra!!! That would be a hoot! V6 engines don't do much for me for some reason, though. I'd rather see the inline 6 from a Trailblazer in there or something, lol. |

sorry I don't have a scanner. Both bikes are concepts from Ariel, the top of course is electric and the bottom is an I4.The article talks of even using a thumper motor. |

I may merge different generations of Shelby cars if I build a kit - get an AC kit, and put in the 2.2 turbo 4 from an 80s GLHS or CSX. I've got four of his '80s cars (86 GLHS, 87 CSX, 89 CSX, and 91 Daytona C/S) all with turbo 4s...and I have a garage full of spare blocks, cranks, heads, etc. All I need is that elusive 2.5 Dakota 5 speed transmission, LOL. |

U4euh, Somewhere I have a vhs tape of a "Beyond 2000" special circa 1987 (I think) that shows off a then new Italdesign motorcycle concept that looked just like the top one, except it had hub less wheels. Watching it run around a track still has me going gaga. The wheels used a roller barring setup like you see on some of the wild custom choppers. It looked like nothing was there. That douche canoe Billy Lane used a similar setup on the rear for one of his bikes.
