Half a 90" XB kit with the right bits can get you there power wise, and not blow up, Works shock and a sorted front end (fork-brace,Galfer pads and lines, extra heim joint,Works kit, gold valve emulator kit,7.5 fork oil) can do wonders for the handling, as well as rear-sets, and low bars/clip-ons, and ditching weight to get you close - weight wise as well. A lot of work but doable, and if you want to match to a T, then add a slipper clutch and Baker 6 speed as well - technically you would have it in handling, but the KTM will probably have twice as good gas mileage due to FI, though, if you adapted the XB FI system - been done - you could probably get a lot closer.

Its just that all that is totally stock on the KTM - I would Ice the rear signal light, but its a fine bike otherwise, and so there are no reliability questions compared to a highly modified bike, even if very well executed with full good intentions of reliability.

I bought another Buell. All though this one is not a blast but it is fun.

I still miss my Blast.

Ditch the tugboat and get a 2010 Blast! Better bike than that by far!

Are you refering to the XR or the XB? The XR is really a fantastic machine. Yes it is heavy but it is so much fun. Besides the XR is my "sport crusier" and the XB is my sport bike. The XB is light and nimble like few others. Between me and a good friend we have xr1200x, xb12r, X1, 1125r, and FXDXT. I do miss my Blast and I only sold it to get my wife a bike. She would not ride the blast. I had the Blast all set up to my liking. I even have a bunch of Blast parts in my garage. I have a brand new fork brace in the package still.

Should be "2013", not "201 3".

Sorry, but without a valid reason for posting as "Anonymous", you dont get to post as "Anonymous".

Also, There isnt any reason HeyZeus to post about your new Buell here. This is for non-Buell discussions. If you were parked next to a Yamaha, this whole discussion might have been focused on you riding a Yamaha!

FWIW: I'd take either black bike, but I'd much rather have the XB!

I got to ride a Royal Enfield for an afternoon through the California hills. Not a bad bike. It comes with super crappy retro tyres. Ditch them and lean it over with confidence! It is a 'brand new' old motorcycle and absolutely begs for modifications. I'd consider getting one (if I had the extra money), but right now I really need something for off road!

It is called a Knuckle-Thumper by the builder. I would like to see how they put the engine together, performance data, take it for a ride. It seem to have a true Knucklehead top-end, not just fake rocker-box cover.

Save your $$ and frustration. The new RE's are still a POS, and not worth your time and money. Ask me how I know... I wish Yamaha would bring their SR400 over here.}

Arlen Ness grafted a Knuckle top on a Sporty years ago - the "Accel bike". Biggest challenge is getting the oil system to function at all - the knuckle system is way different from anything else. Of course, it's a show bike, so it doesn't have to run for very long...

The world turns and I have another thumper, a most capable 2013 Honda CBR250R ABS. It is water cooled, has speedo/tach/fuel gauge/heat gauge/time of day/trip meter, and a 10,500rpm redline. It has put the fun back into riding, and has averaged 83mpg for the first 750 miles, which includes some 60+ mph freeway blasts.

It is very comfortable, with a seating position similar to my previous XB9S.

I did test ride a Blast in the local Craigslist, but it was a poorly kept example of what I remember to be a great bike.

2015 Yamaha SR400, coming in June

Is $6000 too much to ask?

Heh, I like it as it is, BUT that $6k price is $1k too high for a bike that has not really changed in many years.

The Hero's are made in India, IIRC. I sure hope their QC better than that of Royal Enfield.

Eric Buell's input might just make me curious about these new bikes.

Yeah - a lot of folks are keeping an eye on them. Would blow the rest of the 250cc club racers out of the water without trying. A few suspension tweeks, and a few motor tweeks and lighten her up a tad more to bring her under 300lbs - wouldn't take much already almost there - and that would be one hell of a canyon dance partner!

A few months back i sold my blast, cant say i miss it, but i do miss this forum.
Besides being the only friendly site on the internet, you guys are much more informative and regular than the other forums ive tried.

So heres my plea for help: im looking for an exhaust on my new bike. Its a 2000 wr400f -
im turning it into a motard.
I see most people throw FMF pipes on their dirt bikes, whereas other pipes like yoshimura are more commonly thrown on street bikes.

Is there a difference in performance gains?
Where can i go to see the specs/improvements of the exhaust before i buy it, or is that even possible?
What do you guys suggest? I hear MRD is nice and it seems more affordable.
Im open to any and all suggestions and advice.
thanks for your insight!

Sorry, I don't even know what a wr400f is!
I can't help. What works well on one bike is not always true for others. Good luck.

Supertrapps are tunable and work on anything - important number is exhaust header size matching up to can inlet size - try 12 to 18 discs.
