I called my dealer and he only had the straight bars in his catalog, just like the Buell website. I was kinda suprised he had a parts catalog for the CR.

The regular parts catalog isn't in yet, that is the Buell aftermarket stuff - patience - it will come - lol

So, we have confirmation that someone has actually mounted a set of the 1125 clubmans on a Blast?

Laverdas only clear the tank in a very, very, limited number of positions without any modifications whatsoever (or addition of risers).

the riser part is easy - an extra set of top clamps reversed and longer bolts - voila - risers - lol

Acerbis Cyclops headlight, anyone have one installed who can comment on how well they work for night riding???

http://www.acerbis.com/p107_headlight/3002.html

I was riding home tonight and decided it's time to get a better headlight(than the stock one) that lights up the road better. I know EZ is running the Acerbis Demon lights but they don't appear to make or sell those anymore, which sucks cause I kinda like the built in blinker option.

Looks like they will run me about $100 but I'm curious as to how well they actually work. I like the look but I need to know how they function before I buy. It uses a 55w halogen bulb in the spotlight and a 55w halogen & 5watt incandascent in the flood so I'd assume they should be plenty bright.

Also, what's with the spotlight & floodlight? I'm not understanding the difference and why i would need both.

And while I'm on the subject, has anyone found any HID's that work on the Blast.

Figure I'll look into these too before buying a new light for it.

Found elsewhere:
My 139db Stebel gets the job done. There's an archived thread on the installation lurking around here somewhere. Last Sunday my buddy asked where I installed it (it's behind the fly screen) and when he went to look I couldn't help but lay on it.
MWAHAHAHAHAHA - (on a tuber behind the fly screen) -

any Blastards try this yet?

Hey Tony - I just might have a line on a set of regular Clubman bars that you can use downward and still lock - side to side.

Will let you know - as soon as I find out.

know my paint drawing looks like a 4yr old did it but i think its understandable lol. I know its not to scale or anything but you get the idea, side view of the top clamp/bar mount? gonna try out B tomarrow, if i dont spend all day waitin for the dryer repair guy to show up, sumtime between 10 an 5, worse than the cable guy lol

A- my first attempt at installing the clubmans, lock worked, levers not touching blinkers

B. second attempt, moved the grips up(a little) and closer to me(a little), levers hit blinkers, but more comfortable, had to move(re-adjust mirrors), an the lock doesnt work anymore, oh well.

Sorry Tony - I guess its up to Buell to make a comfortable set of Clubmans for the Buells.

Are the bar ends in the same plane as the center section, like the blue one below - or - do they have a down angle, like the red one:

So, someone wanted a different design for LED signals on his Uly. I got amber LEDs that were so close to red that they might as well have been red, so I had an extra set. I put them on my Blast. Just wanted to show off! Here's the video. YouTube

I'm guessing the new CR bar will be flat, like the blue one above - that's what the pic looks like, but it's hard to tell...

Will yours go like this?

Basically the same position as regular clip-ons, but mounted to the triple instead of the forks - obviously not a lockable position, unless you grind back the end of the lock tab on the head tube.

I know! In the catalog, they're listed as "Amber (624nm)." If I had looked a little further at "Red (625nm)" I would have rethought the whole thing. Other listings for Amber are 597nm and 617nm. Yellow is 587nm and 590nm. Next time I order, I'm going to try a few of each to see just what color is which. The yellow ones look just as amber as any other turn signal out there.

Finally, after having my baby buell and reading this forum for a while, I am posting... I must have rearsets... I found these on e-bay, and they look pretty sweet, tell me what you think and if they might be frankensteinable!

Welcome to the Thumper Forum Dwinecracker!

If you want to adapt something, try these people:

http://www.chainsikle.com/

There are rear sets available specifically for the Blast if you check the threads above for links.

I appreciate the welcome, and thanks for the link... However, most 1 off are ridiculously expensive... I figure if I can pick these up on the cheap, can't be toooo much I have to customize.. oh well, you gotta pay to play sometimes!!! I intend to do quite a bit of mild customization and will definately be showing the step by steps of what i do... gonna post in pics tomorrow!!

Welcome Dwinecracker!
The hardest part to making rearsets is the mounting plates. A drill and jigsaw are all that are needed though. After that lots of stuff is available to bolt on. (the stock brake side parts can be all reused, needing only spacers and bolts.)

You know Swampy - as Buelistic did show us that those back groups of bolts are the same - I'm almost a 100% sure that the only mods would really be on the brake side - which is just a mounting plate - so his would definitely cost more to modify - when they where approached with the Buell Blast - they said they would do a confirmed group buy - all prepaid - so if you guys want to start a group buy - you could start it in the for sale section - contact them for specifics - my info is over a year old - when I first saw that link - just like forkbrace.com - same situation - none of our vendors actively sell them - so there is no conflict.
