You could always just add two plates?

Doesn't one of our sponsors sell Kevlar plates - replace the whole set with proper set like that - bullet proof - Drag racer's always beef up the clutch with this method, on a HD tranny - this would make it really hard to kill.

Energyone makes kevlar clutch plates for the blast. How much work would it be to install? Could you use the stock primary setup? I think that would be a nice compliment to the 600cc setup or if you just wanted to do wheelies all the time

Thanks for all the input. I'm following every entry. I would love to hear from someone who has actually run the XB12 sprocket and chain on the blast. Just because I can do it though does not make it a good idea or worth the effort. I'll do the XB12 to 984 eventually but will leave the blast alone unless someone can speak with regard to how well the swap works. More input is welcome.

Sorry for my poor choice of words. The Blast clutch is not known for failing. I cant remember ever hearing of one fail.
I dont believe the Blast clutch basket will accommodate 2 more discs.
A quick scan of the clutch parts of both the XB & P3 shows many of the parts are different. Whereas the transmissions of the Blast and early XB's have many parts in common.
All in all I think it would be cheaper and easier to just buy the XB9 engine sprocket and primary chain. (I believe American Sport Bike sells them as a kit or that might be the XB12 set).
Sorry, I cant be of more help, but if you make the switch (either way) let us know. Thanks.

I have an Energy One clutch in mine...very satisfied with it...it cured a poor disengagement problem the appearantly undamaged stock clutch had.

Fast1075, How hard was the install? I'm thinking of doing this if it means a smoother transmission feel.
