Is 110 racing fuel high in solvent additives? I dont see the connection to cleaning the carb?

gearhead it'll just burn hotter so will hopefully clean combustion chamber i hope oterwise will be interesting to see how it runs with about a gallon added on top of rest of tank of 93.

I just bought a buell blast and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for a good outdoor cover, all of the ones I can find locally are HUGE!

Welcome Mlavore!
Online will get you any size you want, but before you spend too much think about how badly the cover will get thrashed. If its likely to see harsh use and develop holes, then I'd get an adequate cover and replace as needed.
My opinion!

Tnt: 110 octane burns slower which would mean less heat. It would allow you to give the engine more abuse and get it to run hotter, but I dont see how just using it will make it burn any hotter than regular gas. I would think 87 (or low octane) would burn hotter."insert 'I dont know' emoticon here"!
Since its Summer time you will probably notice it will run better with the 110, especially with 2 people.

Running 'water injection' will probably give the combustion chamber a good cleaning, but I've only done this on cars, not air cooled mc engines.}

Mlavore,
for 2 months now I've used the Walmart $19 cover at home and work, so I use it to cover my bike whenever I'm not riding.
I burned about 4 holes in it b4 I figured out how to use it.
Put it down all the way on the front tire pull back the 2 hooks over foot pegs and up over seat where the hooks hook 2gether over seat. Finally the back tire gets covered. To finish and tighten it so the cover doesn't blow on the header, I push the bike 1/4 turn forward to roll the front tire on the cover and further secure it.

For an as yet unknown reason PM's and post e-mails are not getting sent to some Badweb members. If you are having a problem could you please post on this thread so we can get an idea of the scope of the problem.

Is there anyone NOT having an issue? (maybe you're just thinking Badweb is really quiet?)

well the 110 def smoothed out throttle response and seemed to also smooth idle. this was both in WOT and partial trottle. will see how it does as the 110 is purged back out with 93 again. i think was worth it to try and will prob try some more next time i visit KY.

I just celebrated my 1-year anniversary with my Blast. Thank you to the BadWeb and especially the THUMPer Forum for being so damn awesome. The Forum is definitely the best organized and easiest to use of all the boards on the BadWeb.
Long Live the Blast!

Heres the latest. Took the air box off and found a dead bat. How it got in there I dont know. Slowly through out the day I would start her up and idle, give a little gas and she would die out. But, as the day went on she kept getting stronger. By the end of the day I could ride her up the street. Sometimes she would die down but then she would power back up. While it was in idle, I sprayed WD 40 on the boot to see if there was any change in the RPMs. No change. I did it again today and the WD 40 does not get sucked in from the boot so I think its good. She is starting and rev'ing up strong. I will run this gas out and add sea foam again with a new tank. I did get two boots just incase along with a new air filter.
Side question. At the rear of the carb there is a hose with a nipple on it. Whats its job? It looks like it shoots out, Air or fuel mist. Is this part of the Auto Choke. Thanks Josh.

Name one other bike that would tolerate a dead bat in the airbox so gracefully.

Blasts are bulletproof!

Happy anniversary Blastronomer, and many more.

Thanks Milt.
That's what I'm talking about. A dead bat in the airbox is classic stuff. Where else would you read about that, other than the THUMPer Forum? Or... Where else would you post a question about a dead bat in the airbox? Fascinating.

How about a non-rain dance for N.Florida?
I rode to/from work all week but can't get out of the garage 'cause of the rain today. It looks like tomorrow will be the same!
Thanks for your efforts.

Quick Question, when you take off the air filter cover, you can see the back of the carb. There is a hose that goes across it. it has a nipple on it that seems to mist out air or fuel. What is this for? Is it part of the auto choke? Thanks Josh.

That recycles gasses from the crank case into your carb. Most of us have re-routed that hose so that it doesn't muck up the inside of the airbox or spew its crud into the carb.

Where do you re route hose to? Also Changed the boot and no difference it would still die. Drained the gas. Half gas half water came out. Cleaned the tank and added an in line filter, no problems. I will re fill the tank and add a little sea foam. New air filter is on the way. Thanks again. Josh
