Quick up-date. Got rained away from the Beartooth. Everyone for two days after said it was the best road ever.
Rode Lolo Pass and liked it a lot! Did the Rattlesnake Canyon, south out of Lewiston, today. Much more fun than Deal's Gap, with elevation changes and (reportedly) 212 turns in 18 miles. Guard rails and big drop-offs kept me focussed. Dry as a desert and, like everywhere these days, baking hot.
Still fighting a dry cough. Seattle tomorrow (via Wenatchie) for some blues at Highway 99 Blues Club, then home for Thursday. Pics to follow. |

129/3 is such a great road, and being out in the middle of nowhere it gets little attention. Did you double back or take 82 up out of Enterprise? In 2010 Macy and I did 204/82/3/129 and it was awesome! Ended up in Idaho near McCall at Bergdorf hot springs and came home through Hells Canyon. |

Eric...........sorry you missed beartooth....very nice road, but lots of good ones out there. Shane directed me to the rattlesnake last year......may do it again this year. If it was located in a metro area, it would be a real crowded road.
Did the tourist thing yesterday.......left the bike in the parking garage. Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island by ferry.......Coney Island by subway.........(what a system),,,,,,,very impressive.
Rode all 4 bridges today and rode up a great little road that followed the water in NJ........
I have stayed a couple of extra days.........this place has a life of its own.....it can be addictive.
High police presence...........
Place was packed....hot dogs were really great..........the legend is true............
No wasted space in this town.........nice skate board park between the supports for Williamsburg bridge.....

Haven't taken the time to look at the preceding pics. Jaci and I are home just now. 7000 miles on a bike that turned over 70.000 along the way. 19 States. Temperatures over 100 pretty much every day. Don't want to think how much money spent! But lots of fun. Hundreds of nice people and interesting places and goings-on, especially In the Ozarks. Pics to follow now that we're home. Thanks again to all. A few PMs to follow shortly. |

Well I made it to Concord NH...........rode all day in the rain from Houlton ME. Stayed on the freeway the whole way. Could barley made the cars out just ahead of me.
Took Highway 1 all the way up the Maine coast to get to Houlton..........grand road.....lots of little sea coast towns.
Came across this place on the way up............never heard of it, but tons of bikes there.
This bike was really finished off nicely.....flawless detail.....waiting on a paint job I guess.......
I parked my dirty bike way at the end..................
Sunset the last day in NYC..............
Bunch of ducks lived in a pond next to the motel in Houlton...........this one would come about 2 feet from me to get some bread..............
Had to be a 100's of places like this on 1...........
Really missed the S2 the last couple of days...............not today.......the RK is perfect for rain and freeways.
Off to VT and PA tomorrow...

are you going to be home by moto GP time? Jon and his wife are coming down taking one of the rooms. I am going to be there. None of the boys or Teressa are coming this year. should have a room if you want to live cheap.a ahahah |

I am in Pittsburg......going to Cedar point.....(roller coaster capital of the world).....then meeting up with a friend in Columbus for the AMA vintage event.
It rained so hard today a bunch of cars pulled off to the side with flashing hazard lights.
Shane...you are right......at the first few small storms it was great. 95+ and a little rain cooled you down and you were dry in a few miles........(did not stop to put on gear). Finally put on gear and rode for hours. Tried some new "stuff" on the shield this trip..really works good.
Beads keep moving and are smaller,much eaiser to see.

Sanducky Oh........spent the day at Cedar Park.............great place. Rode all the "fast" coasters...........had a fast pass still had to wait.........15-20 minutes for some.........45 for the "dragster" .
roller coaster capital of the world......
This guy was hav'n a good time....
Camera got wet in the water coaster and stopped working.............off to Iowa today.
Sane...perfect weather last 2 days.........AMA vintage bike event was somthing...retro racing...100's of "old" bikes.

Sunrise from my room this AM with the Iphone. My camera is history......called 2 camera stores in Chicago and none in stock. So will just use the Iphone. I am in Iowa City......104 today.....riding West into the late afternoon sun was a bit much.
Vintage flat track.........they used a flagman and spectators got to stand right next to the track........good stuff!!
RT............too many rides ....had to choose carefully.

Hey Eric.....glad you got them up........nice to "revisit".
Road to Sturgis..............hard to get lost.............
Mighty tall sign....Texas style!!
Weeks before the event and it's already started......motel manager said they start earlier every year.
Hard to believe a small 6k town has 300-400 thousand swarm in for a week.
Great museum........maybe 100 very old bikes.........a few "newer ones".......that were 20 to 30 years old.
Lots of bikes here and the motel filled up by late afternoon.
Hotel has bike parking marked off....... right in front of office......cool......
Off to Montana tomorrow..............

I'm in a little town....(deer lodge ) ... in Mt. ....the name says it all  WiFi not working
So Iphoning it. 80's all day.....hardlet any traffic in Mt.
RT.....IPhone photos.....bumped saturation in photoshop...., but the sky's are bluer here.
Of to Lolo pass tomorrow!!!

Hey........back home..no pics.....Iphone not hooked up to this computer. Stay away from the Rattlesnake for a while..........they were tar and graveling it while I was riding through.......15-20 miles of thick new gravel.
Already looking forward to next year........gotta check on the S2 tomorrow.
Will have it ready for the next one.
