Pwnzor,

If it were just the still frames, I might be inclined to agree that they are too fuzzy to let you see what's going on. We can watch that part of the video and follow the fuzzy images though. Each are identifiable at various times.

Yes, I'm guessing what happened out of view. The cop is still in view though, and can be seen struggling with someone beneath him. That someone is obviously the biker. The cop eventually give him a couple of punches with his fist, after which the struggle stops, the cuffs go on and they stand him up and lead him to the squad.

Interesting analogy about bank robberies. I would never suggest acting like robberies never happen, but the fact they do doesn't keep me from having a carefree transaction at the teller. This is exactly how we should handle it when we are involved in a traffic stop. Assume that we will be involved in the 99.999 percent of stops that don't involve undeserved beat downs. People here are suggesting they should assume they are going to have the 0.001 percent experience and run from the cops. That pretty much assures a beat down as displayed in this video.

You say you are looking at what's in plain view? That would be the biker fleeing, running stop signs at high speed, and riding erratically. That would be the biker fleeing on foot after the bike has been disabled. That would be having to tackle the biker and get into a physical struggle, which is a very dangerous thing to do because of the risk of loosing possession of your pistol. At that point it is prudent to use a fair amount of force to limit the danger. The other thing we do see clearly is that the use of force stops as soon as the signs of struggle stop. Those are the things that can be clearly seen in that video for anyone who cares to look. Perhaps you would like to share what you see?

Guy running from the cops is a piece of shit, no question there from me!

( although it seems some think he should have simply had his hand slapped told not to do it again and hell maybe stopped off for coffee on the way to the station with cops?!? )

Now onto the cops.. There was a HINT of over-reaction ( at best ). Nothing that should have warranted getting canned over. Maybe a talking to in the captains office, but fired... No!!

I haven't talked to ONE cop who said " you call that a beating? "

But I guess we do things a little different down here in Texas. Hopefully that helps keep all the little pansies out!

I bet those who think the cops should have been fired are against the death penalty too ( and hell, probably voted for Obama as well )

If I ran then I was caught and got a good beating (this guy did not) then I would do one of two things.

1. I would stop the next time like I should have in the first place......or,

2. I would call Lee Parks and sign up for his class so maybe next time I could actually get away.

I dread the day when our PO's are getting killed because of 'the liberals' worried about perpetrator's civil rights...

God knows our soldiers overseas already deal with crappy ROE's that cost American lives on a regular basis...

You can easily say 'I never get in trouble', but until you do have an incident where some worthless POS perp ruins your life and does you some serious permanant damage, you really would not understand...

So... repeatedly swinging a club at an unseen target is "struggling", is it?

That says it all.

I'll ignore your thinly veiled personal insults, considering the source.

The struggle can be seen in the fact that the first cop who tackled the biker is moving around quite a bit. He isn't swinging at the biker though, it's simply a struggle for control. You wouldn't see that if the biker were complying. I guess you will continue to be blind to what can be seen though.
