I apologize in advance if there is another thread like this. I have been utilizing the search feature for the last hour and have not found one.

I bought a wrecked 08 1125r and am looking for ideas... was hoping all of you with custom mods would post some pix

So far other than fixing the damage parts, I have:
- Had all recall work done
- Installed 2010 Flash
- Nissin RMC
- Bar end mirrors,
- Flush mount signals
- Kick Ash windscreen
- D&D pipe.
Here is what it looks like so far:

Thinking about doing:
- black header wrap (the heat shield is damaged and ugly)
- painting the plastics flat black
- touring seat
- fender eliminator
- frame grip pads.
- frame/swing arm touch up paint

Does it have clear 3M protective tape covering the 25th Anni top tripple clamp?

If I had a Diamond Blue frame that was scratched, I would go with the bare metal look like the racebikes. Either polished or a brushed finish would look good. I would leave the plastics glossy too.

As it is, my black 09 frame is real clean and I like it like that against the red bodywork.

I too would like to see more custom bike pics here. There are no where near enough. My bike is completely stock right now, but I will definitely post pics when I get to work on it.

I am not sure about the 3m tape I will have to check in the am. Been out riding all day at put her away for the night.

Someone else suggested the bare metal idea. I like the sound of it. will have to try and find some pix of what it would look like.

Here are a few more pix I took today.

Now THAT is one insanely gorgeous bike, Edmbueller! Any close-ups of that paint job?

All I've done with the road bike is carbon fiber it to death.

Both your bikes are sick. The carbon made my haw drop. That cf full fairing buell sold would set your bike over the edge.

Edmbueller, can you give me some details on paint used on your bike? I'm looking to paint mine too, but I've never painted plastic before. I don't want to see my paintjob start flyin off at 100+mph if ya know what I mean!!

More coming soon, but enjoying riding it too much at the moment, will be getting the frame and swing arm brushed after the summer, and wheels going matt black with polished lip.

Its from a Laverda 750s strike, didn't take too much work to get it fitted. I strongly suggest others just buy a belly pan off of ebay that looks like it will fit and have a go yourself.

The usual: de-noid, Slip On, K&N, de-peg, Hero Blue shield, side fairings, tail-tidy w/LED bolts, Touring seat with American Sport Bike pins, EBR Race ECM. I think I am about done.

I really like the color of the frame and wheels. I might add an EBR Pegasus logo on the side fairings in reflective blue to match them. But as far as taking stuff off and putting stuff on I'm happy with where it is now.

When it warms up enough to enjoy shop work again I plan to mock up a fiberglas belly pan to mate to the side fairings, but chances are EBR will release one before I get mine done.

Sparropie-

I bet it is. It was originally from Scottsdale AZ. Dealer plate on it though was from Eastside HD, I think all the recalls and service was done at Eastide according to the VIN check that we did. It was bought from a CoParts auction in Washington. I bought it from the guy who bought it from the auction.

A few early mods, the orange air-box was too much tho.
I need to find a Kick-Ash someday so I can see Erik's sig again..

Thanks for the props, I love the way she looks.

Wheels are from an 07 Lightning I believe.
Straight bolt-in, they even have the OEM bearings still.

As far as the frame shine, I have used half a dozen rattle-cans of clear Acrylic Lacquer.
I think the black and blue look better together this way.
Airbox is the OEM black, peeled the logos off on a hot day last Summer.
Stuck 'em to my tool-box.

Man, I love those red pinstripes on the front.

I just bought my white 09 in December and will start adding stuff in the summer.

Its amazing, the more i look at my bike (and the ones on this site) they look like works of art. Do you guys get that feeling also? They just have personality. I love the Japanese bikes but they seem to lack character after getting my 1125.

One last thing, I really want to clean up that tail, whats the best kit to buy and be able to keep my stock turn sigs?

Thanks,
James

James -- The cheapest one would probably be either make it yourself from sheet metal or buy the Jardine one. I think those go for about $70 or so.

+1 on the jardine, its the cheapest, and easiest one on the market..just drill a small hole in the bottom of you tail light lens and you have your license plate light ; )

I used the little led license plate bolts, the light shines down on the plate. They're kinda small in this pic, but you can see the black stub on the plates. Video shows it better too.
