I was wondering what the least expensive tach option is for our bikes. I'm about to buy an 04 w/560 miles on it and don't want to invest too much, just in case something unforseen comes up.

BTW do our bikes idle high during auto choke operation?

Yes they idle high on initial start up (within reason). Its the most common reason for the 1st gear crunch!.

Most of the tach info is here:

I dont remember whats cheapest.

Another forum mentioned that these are working, that battery life is a year and replaceable, and though digital - it is large enough to read. Much faster readout changes than the older versions. Set at 0.5 and voila - it works for a single.

Nice find - should work - the mounting and getting to run right shouldn't be too hard.

Thanks EZ , I hope this thing sets up easy. The specific gauge for our apps is strictly for a 1 or 2 cyl, I'm hoping needle calibrations will be a non event... I'm guessing we do have a pulse style ignition system....? Can you clue me in? Thanks.

Yes - a single fire ignition - probably has an induction wire for the plug wire, and power - positive and negative. Hit our tach section in the kv if it gets tricky!

Yes - some equis work - will say one or more cylinders - Blast speedo and 3+" equis should be the same size gauge, and fit in a M2's optional twin gauge dash - American Sport Bike may still sell them, with a minor mod they bolt right up.

I'm a new buell blast owner, I've had it for 2 weeks now. I've got it running fairly well and am going through everything on the bike. I'm lost on the front brakes. How does the caliper come off to replace the pads? Thanks.

Ssaerocoupeman,

I strongly suggest you post this at the top of the forum in the new members area. It will get lost here and this thread is about tachometers vice brakes. There's a brake subsection as well. That way EZ and Erik (and other knowledgeable folks) will see it and be able to respond.

Thanks Jay!
The pads come off with 2 screws, caliber removal is not necessary (and won't help).

If you don't have a repair manual get one ASAP since you are obviously going to do repairs yourself. We simply can't rewrite all the procedures here and copy all the photos or specs.
