No ice here just rain, rain & more rain. I just dropped my B-50 cams in. I took her on a short 5 mile walk. It seemed to run pretty good. But when I got back to the house the idle seemed high. I readjusted the timing and backed off the idle screw about a quarter of a turn. Now it sounds right. I'm running 45/175 jets does that sound about right for my setup? Also running EZ's airbox mod and a V & H exhaust. Thank agian

Sounds about right, though since you have stock compression and the colder weather, a 180 main might work better (could be worse too). You should also shim the needle if you havent already done so.
A 45 should be fine for the slow jet if you dont have any problems with starting (and the idle mixture screw is set correctly). You could go for a 46 (and/or set the idle mixture and adjust the jetting as needed).
FWIW: I run a 45 and dont even need the 'choke' to start!

PS It didnt even hit 70 degrees yesterday and it RAINED. Oh well, only 6 more rainy days to go this year!!!
(Not far from the truth. So, everybody who hasnt already moved here, please do so. Then I can sell my house for 2008 pricing and move to somewhere where there's a lot less people!)

My needle is shimmed to .03 i couldn't find anything closer to .05, Would .06 work better? And my idle mixture screw is 2 1/2 turns out. Gearhead If you move I'd advise not here. unless you don't mind dodgeing rain showers. I love the location I live in but I get tired of the rain. and it's been to warm to even snow in the mountains. Just about everything they say about the pacific northwest is true.

I am stitting here watching some guys bass fishing, the snow is melting, it is the January Thaw, now all we have to get over with is the February Freeze and April showers that bring May mushrooms! Its coming, only about 75 days to go before it gets warm enough to go out in the garage to work for more than a few minutes.

I installed new handlebars today. I decided to go a little different and bought the Daytona bars. The bars have a little more rise, but the same set back as the Superbike bars. The install was easy thanks to this board. One of the big tips was to mark the middle of the handlebars before installing.

Mounted MotoDynamic's Smoked Sequential Integrated Taillight yesterday. I think it really cleans up the back. Also, quite a bit more noticeable due to the LED's. I recommend it for anyone thinking about it. Super easy install as well.

A little tail chop with a little under-seat kit and she'll be good 'til I put the new back end on her.

If I ever do. At this point I'm looking at doing a Firebolt/1125 back end, or a one-off custom cafe seat. In which case the back would be severely modded.

Could someone tell me why the 02 Blast would not run with the stand down and clutch released in neutral? with the clutch in and stand down in neutral it stays running.

Gaza: Probably a bad neutral safety switch. That can be bypassed by disabling the kickstand safety switch-connect the 2 wires going to the switch together.

You can also bypass the clutch safety switch by flipping the clutch diode.

Clutch diode:

Ldt: PLEXUS! Great on the plastics, even better on your face shield.

Hi, all.
My wife just bought a 2005 Blast. It's a former Rider's Edge bike and is pretty beat up. Thankfully, she got it cheap, but needs to replace some parts, especially the left Footrest Support Assembly. Can someone recommend a mail-order / internet parts source with good prices?

Also, if anyone has yellow body parts, she'd like to change to that from black.

Welcome to the Thumper Forum Spyder Man!

The foot peg brackets can be bent back into shape easier than ordering new ones.

Lay the bike on its side and you can chain the bracket to a 2X4 and leverage it against the mounting area on the seat frame.

Spyder_Man, I might have mine laying around from my change over to rear sets. If I do you are welcome to them...for free. I'll check around and PM you if I still have 'em.

Those of us who have taken them off KNOW we will never hassle with putting them back on!

I do have them Spyder. They are awkward and a little heavier than you would think they are. So they won't be easy or cheap to ship. I would definitely try to fix yours first.

But if you still want one\them they are yours for the takin'.

I just put my 2006 Blast on my local craigslist (also on here). I was told Blue Book value is only $1900. Why do they value it so low?

Doesn't seem fair, does it? Every Buell seems to have taken a hit on value recently. But by way of comparison, someone has an X1 for sale here, now down to $2600. :-( for seller, and :-) for the buyer, I guess.

3 reasons:
1 - off riding season
2 - there are a lot of Blasts in Texas
3 - there are a lot of Blasts, though I do think resale prices will now slowly rise.

off riding season in Texas?? I though they just switched from mesh gear in the summer to textile/ leather in the fall, spring and "winter".
