the front isolator needed some convincing to fit so I elongated the hole and had to cut off the rim so the bolt head will clear. the bolt head is very wide compared to the shank. plenty of metal left for the bolt to hand onto.

there seems to be something missing here! wow all that room for a superchargerjust kidding i dont have the money for that yet. the frame and swingarm went together with no complaints. the forks are up next after I order the pinch bolts . the rear wheel goes on when I get a tire to throw on it. and I am waitning for a blast wiring harness to make this baby run.

so what do you think?

What on earth will it be legally titled as?
X-Blast? XB5R?
Imagine how well that thing will flick around a corner, being so much lighter.
I wanna know what kind of custome exhaust goes on it!

well i'd say for starters a great commuter. the looks, suspension, and brakes of an xb, but with another 25 to 30 mpg above an xb. plus ive seen to many beginners(and not such beginners) flip an xb over when not being to smooth with the clutch. i would think it would be a little more forgiving with the blast motor.

then there is the just plain, why the fu@k not? or just because...

by the way, i think you should put the battery where the rear cylinder should be. why not put that heavy thing down low too?
i hear you called work looking for me the other day. just give me a heads up when you are going to be coming in for all the oddball stuff. i wont be there friday though. you know my number if ya need some help.

and im thinking i could make a few laps at the speedway on that this summer, lol

sweet. Are you warming up the blast motor at all? I've pondered about doing that and updating the blast to XB spec, XB6?

That is the Blast that Buell should have built to replace the current model for 25th Anniversary.

Think of it as a Buell 690 Duke.

That'll be a neat bike. Shame buell doesn't do that for the blast.

If you put TT, or Uly suspension on it, it would be a Buell Super motard.

What are you going to do with the extra space where the rear cylinder lived? Extra fuel?

Nice work, maybe somebody at corporate is watching. They will positively be outraged when they see my Blastard
(Scavanged XR250 with Blast electronics, body parts and ergos) Serves them right for depriving me my dirt bike.
Keep us posted with more pics.

Awesome! I like the XB5R moniker.

So, wonder how much weight that shaved off?

Buelltroll- as a calm and collected person I think I can underatand your confusion, the bike is being built out of curiosity and a pasion for buells. I think the blast is a great bike that could be improved and the xb frame and suspension is the way to do the improvements cheaply and effectivly. I can think of amny people who would like a real bike that handles well stops well and gets 70 mpg. I happen to be one of those people. you really do live up to your screen name.

I like it! Nothing wrong with 70 mpg, and how often do you run over 85 mph any way? That thing ought to smoke around corners being some what lighter and more balanced.

That looks like it has the potential to be REALLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYY fun on a track!

I think others have been contemplating/performing this same arrangement already, so it'd be neat to watch everyones progress & input along the way.

Good work. Keep the pics & updates coming!

Heck yea!! With ecm spy I bet it would be pretty easy, just change your timing and fuel maps (zero out all for rear cylinder)and I bet you could make it work.

Doesn't solve the intake manifold issue, though... That'd be a toughy.

Nah, you could either just weld a plate over the one side or get real fancy and custom fab one.
