Yeah, maybe your right. It is stretched for the the 17"wheel and chain conversion, but maybe thats all.

The Crossroads Blast swingarm was slightly stretched in the conversion. This Blast was built in the spring of 2000. I remember trying to get the jetting sorted out in the parking lot at the '00 Homecoming with Rickie Morrison when Mark couldn't make it. That bike is one of the reasons that I added a blast a few years ago to the collection. It was a real hoot to ride, especially when very few people had any idea of what it was!

If Buell had built the Crossroads Blast, I think they would have definitely sold quite a few. They would have still needed the regular configured Blast though.
The Crossroads Blast was really what I wanted Buell/HD to build. One sweet ride!

Maybe not. 1991-2003 will fit. I dont have any idea what the difference is in a 2004 up. It might just be too wide, but the splines might be the same. Dont know.
Other shift levers are available on ebay that will definitely fit (if not now, soon).
The XL shifter can be annoyingly short, but it shifts great!(not as nice as an XB shifter though)

Hey, gang;

Has anyone added 17" rims and tires on their Blast? I don't have one, yet. But, if I get one, I want to raise it 3 or 4 inches..

Thanks.

Yes, quite a few (but I wouldnt say many). Do a Badweb search for 17" wheels and you should run across them. Not an easy swap though!

Looks like a few bolts and spacers are missing - no big deal though - those measurements are in the kv - Yes - their S-1 shifter, and SE S-1 pegs, the plate and spacers are custom, the brakes are stock - and that is why the system originally cost 550 - comprised of something already made and custom brackets to mount them up.

Those will not scrape - unless you've already fallen - lol - you'll definitely be in a racer's crouch with them.

I don't even have my bike yet (this weekend!) and I'm watching that auction. ; )

Here's a question, and one which I couldn't find a sufficient answer for in the KV...

If I wanted to put an air filter on my Buell to get rid of the airbox assembly, what model Harley's air filter will fit on our carb?

I know someone will say "twin cam" but I have no idea which Harleys are twin cam models. Thanks!

Its really not a matter of fitting - a CV40 Kehin Spigot is a very common carb (and I'm a very bad speller - lol) - it is a matter of weight and support for the carb.
Homework - lol

A bit of reading - lol

I am working on designing a new exhaust for my blast. I already have the muffler I am going to use but I think the head pipe from my Vance and Hines will be a bit too short. I would be willing to trade my complete vance and hines exhaust for just a headpipe. Condition is not really a concern as long as it isn't damaged. I really think a Jardine headpipe would be good.

Thanks, Ez...I know about the carb support issue. I think I'm crafty enough to come up with something.

I was thinking of getting something like this for my Blast, which would look pretty cool:

I think I paid around $20-30 for mine, but it doesn't have the HD brand on it.

Thats their ultra light version - originally designed for the Blast but slid over to the Twins when they thought the boot would be an issue by Crossroads - the springs support system would work on that one due to its ultra light weight. You'd still want to learn to keep your knee off it and carry an extra boot and screwdriver - lol

Yeah, it's expensive...I didn't say I was going to get that one in particular...but maybe something like it. I do like that one, though.

As far as my knee hitting it...I don't know, it's a possibility I guess, but I'm only 5'4" with a 29" inseam... ; )

And yeah, after reading lots of the info on here...I'm definitely getting a carb boot to keep on-hand!

I doubt I'm the first person to have a look at this filter from K&N, but it seems to fit the bill for what I want, and it's way cheaper than the Crossroads filter:

http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod= RK-3201

Bikebandit.com has it for $69. Too bad it doesn't come in brushed aluminum.

That should work, don't forget bracing, and practice keeping your knee off it.

That particular filter will probably hit the tank cover. Maybe they make a smaller diameter one or it needs to be spaced out.
