I realize this has probably been covered umpteen times before, but the search function delivers such convoluted results that it is frustrating to sift through, and after an hour plus, I gave up.

What I want to know is, what parts are needed, processes need followed, approximate costs are associated with putting a dual-light setup, preferably the one from the late model xb streetfighter stuff, on a blast?

More specifically, I'd like to put the xb9sx lighting on a blast.

Thanks for any info.

Welcome Erslincoln!
If I remember correctly the XB set up uses only one light on, but can be wired for both. The dominator set up plugs right in (using existing wiring from stock headlight),uses standard universal type brackets for mounting and uses 2 H4 bulbs. Much simpler mounting.
Havent seen the conversion to XB but I think the XB lights take a little more bracket fabrication and wiring. They dont look like they 'bolt right on'.
The XB lights have been rumored to melt if you use both lights on.
Are you looking for exactly the XB look or just dual lights?
The best thing to do is contact a poster who has done the XB conversion. People dont always check the Badweb and some Blasters have moved on and no longer visit. Most are usually more than happy to respond to your questions.

Check my profile pic for the dominator set up.

Very pricey, but doable. I'm looking at this set up - by Puig - 2 55 watt bulbs - very nice -

A standard universal bracket is used for the Dominator lights, but you can be creative if you want. Standard universal brackets have large holes which will accommodate the turn signals with a large washer added. Simple bolt on.

J & P cycles carries the same brand lights but not on the same style (they might now, but only in chrome). Sorry, I cant remember all the places I've seen them for sale. I got mine from England.

Sounds about what I paid with shipping from England. So, okay, but you might find cheaper.

The plug on the Dominators fits the headlight plug (standard 3 prong headlight plug) in the stock headlamp housing. You'll need to pull the wiring out of the stock headlight housing, then it plugs right in!

I dont see any reason to wire in the 2 small parking lights as they dont serve any practical purpose.

i got a question for u EZ, i was looking at the bike pics on ur site, and saw some really neat pics of a blast with (what looks like) a firebolt fairing. is that an aftermarket piece or a fairing from a firebolt that you put on. Also if it was a xfer from a XB, how much custom work went into getting it on there?

I too have been trying to find out how much work it takes to install the xbr fairing onto my blast. Are the fork stanchions the same size from the firebolt to the blast? Or am I right to assume the 'bolt has larger fork stanchions.
2nd: where is a good place to buy said fairing?

I dont remember what a "fork stanchion " is, but the Blast front end and XB front end have very, very, little in common.
Ebay is a good place to find a used XBR fairing. Depending on what you want, a race fairing might also work as they are much lighter and it really doesnt take much to mount one.

I meant the fork "legs." So other than re-wiring what else do you foresee needing to do? I know I will be changing the bars, mirrors, and blinkers.

You'll need to fab up some brackets. Depending on the weight of the entire set up, that might be easy or hard to do. Lightweight race fairings dont need much in bracketry, but a stock unit with headlights could take some work.
What has been done (and the picture is here on Badweb, somewhere), it to make a bracket to replicate the stock mounting of the XB and bolt it all to there. Your big hurdle there is the Blasts 'oil in frame' design which makes it difficult to bolt anything to the frame.
