I think I'm as excited as my son. But, maybe it's the trip to the mountains that's got me going. I'm buying a 2001 Blast for my son (who just got his license & motorcycle endorsement) from Brian. I've ordered a Corbin seat for it & have an appointment to have some Motolight's installed during bike week. Then, after he gets a bit of experience, we'll see what Wes & Pammy can do with it

Hey Brian, I'm looking forward to riding in the mountains with you for a few days. I'm glad to help you stay in the top ten! Thanks.}

Congrats on the new addition to the family!

I was just wondering how old your son was and how much experience he has on 2 wheels?

I teach the equivalent to the MSF Course here on the island and back in October I had my 12 yr old daughter riding our blast around the closed training compound we use.

I am proud to say she was a natural.

Good Luck to your Son in a safe riding career.

What mods have already been done to it? Is it still carrying the stock exhaust? 2002 and later stock Blasts have a 170 main - when I bought the second 2001 I asked if they would jet it to new spec and they did at no charge. I would see if it could be done for you - unless your main riding altitude will be above 3500.

Cool! Sounds like a great ride! Cycleramma is known for their awesome work! Someone is a very lucky young man! I should have known the bike would be handled properly in your hands Brian - my bad! It is a Blast though, just covering the Stepchild of a Stepchild's ass sort of thing - lol -

The Blast was a great beginner's bike for my son. Before he took the course we would ride it together in the Colorado mountains to a school parking lot to practice. Should have seen me (6'5) and son (6'0) on the Blast going down Colorado highways. Had such a good experience with the Blast, it is what led to me buying a Cyclone.

HARDLUCKXB,

My son is 16. He took the motorcycle safety course on a Ninja 250 last spring. He's ridden a friend's Blast around her neighborhood a couple of times & did very well.

This bike will be used to train at least two others (his younger sister & at least one of my friends) as well as my son. A couple of people at work have expressed interest in learning to ride. It may be a regular training work horse!

Hey Ez,

Thanks for looking out for us. I appreciate it. And Brian is, of course, taking good care of us.

My Blast has now taught three people to ride...they are the PERFECT first bike - straight out of the box. Playing around with them just makes them even more fun.

The little thumper may not get ridden as much now that there's a XB9R parked in the garage, but every now and then I still take it out instead.

Bryan
