So, is this a tuber or an XB? Thoughts...

Neither. A motorcycle is legally a frame, and it ceased to be a Buell when he replaced it.

Neat. I wish it were closer, I'd like to check it out in person. I like what I see so far, but not enough to give up $$ and shop space for it.

I agree with Hootowl - I'd call this bike by the frame builders name or Marque, just like I would with a Ness, Gambler, or Buell. If I couldn't do that, I'd refer to it as a "Custom Tuber"

Legally, in California it would be a SPCNS. (Special Construction) for title, registration and insurance purposes.

Thanks for sharing this, BTW

I didn't think so at first, but if you added 1 tube to a 900ss frame it would look very similar.

If I could see the headstock I could tell more, but the Duc trellis is smaller on current models and Ducati does not typically use hardly any bent tubing in their frames- lots of short straight tubes and crazy levels of triangulation.

So, then I texted dude and just asked him- he says it was not a Ducati, was completely custom built, but he didn't build it - so who knows?

Maybe framecrafters. They have done at least one tube frame for an XB. See their website
