Sleez and Gowindward, thanks for the info. I need to get a new one from Al. Also my rear bracket cracked so I will be getting a new one of those as well.

The S2-T will be going on the lift when I get done with the S1W.

This kit from Al

http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/17036.html

Has the big hoop band (17)along with (18) and some other hardware. They also have (18) alone, but not listed on the site (Cost much less than $125). The Z-bracket (7) is sold separate.

Which beats the original S2 rear hanger which was a single strap from what the parts book shows.

spoke with the rep at Lord, says a standard bushing may work, looks like a sleeve would have to be made to get the ID down to what we need. here is the drawing;

just over four years!?!?! Really!!??!!??

ok, back at it,

inspected the OPDG, looks good.

got the exhaust studs mounted today. mocked up the exhaust to get the hardware all figured out.

hope to have her started and running next week.

will most likely be for sale in a month or so,

still need to detail the bodywork and get tires on it.

Simple things--- check for power at coil, then see if your timing cup is broken. Ignition switch gone bad, several other small odd things can go wrong. Kill switch stuck.

thanks guys,

will check everything later.

just frustrating that i spend so much time being so careful cleaning every part, test fitting everything, using a torque wrench most of the time, and hit the button and just nothin'!!!

the spark plug wires i have are questionable, but i should still be getting spark at the plug!!

cranks beautifully, just no spark, and the FSM diagnostics require i make some funky test lead piece.

oh well, i guess i have lost the touch over the years, used to be able to make anything run in a few minutes of tinkering!!

Just a thought. There are two wires that attach to the coil in a rather unreliable way on the earlier M2's. I had a random miss fire for quite a while before I figured it out. Pliers fix that problem to make the connection better.

It's a game of cat and mouse, and your mouse is trapped and tired. You will get him shortly.
