I finally have the X1 back on the road after 2 1/2 years. With the major stuff addressed, I know I'm in for a few months of stupid little stuff to fix.

So after the bike being on the road a week, 1st up...the spring on the seat latch broke.

Anybody know a source to replace just the spring? Or am I stuck buying the whole assembly?
Thanks...

I would suggest taking the broken spring chunks with you to a hardware store.
Most have a chest of drawers with springs.

It's not like a valve spring that needs to be just right to work after all.

If you can't find a spring I have a latch somewhere in my parts pile I could dig out for you.

OH! one more thing to watch out for.
Test the latch before closing the seat in there.
If you tighten the nuts(7/16" I think) too much, the latch will stick.
Getting the tension just right is tricky.

Thanks guys, I'll get the latch apart tomorrow & try the hardware store route. Mike, if that fails I may take you up on the offer...
