Alki beach is a good place to be on a sunny saturday afternoon, yes? All you need now is a pair of bar-end mirrors, some bikini babes and Ferry boat in the background. Well, that and a winning Lotto ticket I suppose. Great shot.

Yeah, we were having a meeting with our new product rep, so I decided to try the stuff out. For "sizing" reference, of course. ;)

Its kinda fun to get the reactions from the Harley crowd when they see someone in full race gear.

I disagree. Looks great once you loose the big airbox.

Made it.

That's a Banke underseat tray. Not sure where the tank trim pieces came from, picked them up used. Pruned the belt guard spear back a bit and voila.

Hauck, That is my bike, hahaha, Peter pulled that pic(say fast 5 times) out of my profile. The first pic is how it sits now the one Peter posted is how I had it last summer....without front fender. I'll see if I can find some more. I've only recently gone digital so most of the pics I have, are on paper.

New Guy here. I've been looking at this site for about a month now and ya'll have me drooling over all these bikes. Makes me wish I could afford to do more to my little thing. Actually makes me wish I could go get the Lightning or the Firebolt. I put a picture of me on my little ole Blast in my profile. I'll try to upload what little changes I've made since getting it in January.

First time doing this, having a little trouble trying to figure out how you post the images here.

Shazam,
Alright, where did you get that tail section? God knows I wont be able to afford it but we all need something to dream about, right.....Did you have a problem with rocks/road grim/rain spraying up without that fender? I don't need any more work when it's time to wash.

I built it.

I've gotten a couple of E-mails lately about this and will tell you what I've told others

"I found a similar tail section from a company called "streetwise sportbike
necessaries" and ordered one, they never sent it and I had to go through my
credit card company to get my money back. I decided to build one!
I built that tail section last winter, I spent a lot of time fabricating
brackets and tabs to hold things like the ECM, rear brake resevoir, and the
bank angle sensor. when I had it like I wanted I took it and had it
chromed. surprisingly it took a lot more work to make the seat frame. but I
think it turned out great!"

"I spent about four months toying with this in my spare time over the winter,
while I had the bike torn down for chroming of the frame and polishing all
the aluminum......total cost ?????? probably around $100 bucks........ten
dollars worth of sheetmetal and tubing (free access to a fab shop I used to
work in), about $30 in the tail light and blinkers, and another $20 for seat
material (I have a best friend that does upholstery) $40 to chrome it. I
would tell you that I did have a lot of time in it (and even considered
making a jig to reproduce it easier, but didn't). I could do another one
pretty easy now (learned alot about where to stuff everything) but the time
it takes is still substantial. oh yeah, I bought an additional bank angle
sensor so I wouldn't have to remove that when I want to switch to the
factory tail (for riding two-up). Some thing else I did (paid attention to)
was make it very simple to switch the tails, It takes about fifteen minutes
to put the factory subframe back on and about ten for the rear footpegs and
license plate! All of the wiring uses the factory harness without
modification and I left the turn signals and bank angle sensor on the cast
unit. the fuse holders slide into a set of slots in the left side panel
(they would be hard to get to in a hurry, as you would have to remove the
bottom two bolts of the subframe and rotate it up to slide them out)."

"Yeah, I love the way it looks....this is the way it is gonna stay as long as
I own it. may change the color scheme sometime down the road but I like the
red and chrome. The only thing I would do different if I were doing it
again, is square off the back, up around the back of the seat. I went with
the round so I could fit a reular tail light into it."

Yes, you get the skunk stripe in the rain all things being equal I figure I'm getting wet anyways......no rock problems though!

>>>Ever see a wheelie maintained PAST vertical?

Yes and I sawed the photos. It was Doug Demokos doing a little parking lot show on Erik Buell's "Big Red" S-2...ground the tail section.

I would have said "impossible"...I would have been wrong.

Doug D was who I was thinking of. The picture I saw was on the KAW 6 cylinder monster and he liked to bang the tail light out just for fun. I don't think even he could hit Shazam's tail light!
