Sooo... if Trump actually won his lawsuit. Would that set a precedent for every user ever banned from an online forum to sue the owners/moderators of those forums for violating their 1st amendment rights?
I thought republicans were all about companies rights to deny services. Republicans should be against this and democrats should be all onboard. I mean the government (through the judicial system) telling private companies that they cannot have control over what can and can't be allowed to be displayed on their (digital) property does that sound very conservative to you?
Really, it's just another way for djt to grift some more money from his supports to fill his pockets and those of his lawyers (if he does pay them).
The basis is the 230 Rule that protects FB, etc. since they aren't publishers. When they act as publishers, they should lose that protection and not get it both ways.
The Clinton/Obama Big Lie factory. A wholly owned subsidiary of the Putin corporation.
Anyone remember the 33,000 Felony counts in the Clinton illegal E-mail scandal? Uranium One? George Stephanopoulos as Obama's Media direction czar? ( the Lie of the Day department, issued the Mantra every show parroted on high rotation )
The same now utterly discredited agency chose to not investigate an obvious pay-for-power multimillion dollar bribe to Hillary, lied repeatedly to Congress and the public, lied about Trump Russian Everything, lied about the Rich assassination, lied about... Everything.
At this point if the FBI, CIA, & State department tells you something you can have zero confidence there's any truth involved.
I still don't like the guy, but I don't have to like you to agree with you, or believe obvious truths, just because you said it.
I'm not sure if that makes me abnormal when so many seem insanely childish to me for letting their emotions override reality. If so, I'm just going to roll with it. Normal is boring and static. Also an illusion.
"Donald Trump must be the most-investigated real estate tycoon in the history of the United States. The fact that dedicated political enemies with vast resources at their disposal have come up with nothing is a testament to his probity. In a field notorious for questionable practices when it comes to seeking permits and dealing with rapacious inspectors of various stripes, Donald Trump evidently has kept his hands clean."
You NYS taxpayers didn't get much value for the expenditure. It is funny how not a single wild charge against Trump has turned out to be true.
The Funniest part is Donald said, out loud, in public, during the Primary campaign, that he Bribed Hillary for a favor in getting one project through.
It was in the context that he Knew Hillary was dirty, and how he knew.
That's the kind of Slander any lawyer of an innocent would jump on and press civil charges, ( Since Criminal charges for the bribe is admitting she took it. )
I mean, that's a slam dunk End of a campaign. Getting sued for Slander is a rare thing in politics, as "public figures" have some wiggle room in defamation and hyperbole. "It was a joke" is a common defense.
But... Nope.
And NOT suing for Slander when your potential opponent says he Bribed you is basically admitting you are guilty, or that you WANT him to win the Primary so you can beat him easily, which was at least HALF the editorial position on all the Party Media coverage.
The pundits in the Media openly said so in editorials. ( that Trump was the ideal opponent since he'd lose to her wonderfulness! ) while not mentioning the Other reason Trump got 24/7 high rotation sound bite repetition, that he was great for ratings. ( And thus profits. As proven by ratings after the Biden* Occupation began. )
Centrist and Right pundits mentioned both the ratings and the desire for a sure loser opponent in their editorials. Echoing the latter, with nearly zero objections from those on the Left they quoted.
It's been one of those blatant Tells that I don't see admitted or mentioned anywhere.
The anti-Trumpers don't mention it, since it admits their Candidate's Guilt. The pro-Trumpers don't... Ditto.
Understandable on both sides, eh?
Much as there is no mention in American Media of any Mullah declaring a Fatwa against Barack Obama for Apostasy. Thus proving by omission his use of Taqiya.
I don't know about a Trump comeback. He's getting older, and the propaganda machine has been left on to blame him for everything bad from the Crucifixion to Putin's current War.
I don't know about a Trump comeback. He's getting older, and the propaganda machine has been left on to blame him for everything bad from the Crucifixion to Putin's current War.
But I am certain that his Enemies are Evil.
Pretty much where I am at . . . . he's going nowhere in 2024 . . but, I'd love to see someone kinda like him, sans the Twitter account, emerge.
The Democrats have NO ONE. . . .
The days of deviated honest folks entering politics is pretty well over . . . no same person would stick their sleeve into that machine.
I miss Ross Perot. As for Trump- when he started and couldn't shaddup his flap to speak ill of the late Senator John McCain... Fk him. YOU DO NOT SPEAK ILL OF THE DEAD.
We need MUCH better leaders of this democracy. Idiots we are, divided. Red, Blue, White, and all the shades of grey, Black, Hispanic, et al. The "Melting Pot" idea must be reinforced and defended. Those who call themselves "Christian Nationalists" are neither, and also damn isdjits.
I speak for myself, and for mine.
We do need sensible R and D good folk to get us through... dialogue. Forget the talking points Fktards, they are just shoveling shit in out ears.
Candace Owens and the governor of Florida for veep. The other way around works too, but it's hard to beat the PR move of first black President, & First woman President.
Either way you get the Presidential Life Insurance Veep.
You can scare with stupid, like Harris* & Quayle, or with menace, like Cheney & Pence. ( in both cases the second was more by reputation than not, but they worked )
Many on here, including myself, did just that when McCain died. I'd had more respect for him if the ran as a Democrat. He only ran as a Republican because he was in/from at the time a strong Republican State and would not have won had he ran as a Democrat.
McCain was a RINO, and deserved to be called out as such.
