Alchemy, according to the first, 2005 link, they agreed to use the NOAA data. I sure would not have, but I have the advantage of over a decade of complaints the NOAA data is adjusted in dubious ways. It sucks not to trust NOAA and NASA to tell the truth. Former heroes of.mine, and I've depended on information from the National Weather Service for my adult life. But when politics trumped science for funding? It's like CNN. If they say there was an earthquake, there probably was. When they tell me it was Republicans that caused it, that's fake news. Fox never tells me it was Democrats. Breitbart might. But I can read charts & when the 2015 chart changes the value for 1939 from the 2013 chart, the data is adjusted....aka fraud. |

“talking about it in terms that are too science-y.” "We who talk about climate change have to talk about it differently. We can't make it a technocratic or scientific issue," Bledsoe said. Of course not. You don’t practice science. If you did, you’d recognize that your theory has been invalidated. |

https://www.technologyreview.com/s/612258/are-we-d esigning-inequality-into-our-genes/ The irony that a technology that promises to keep your children from dying young & living crippled is feared because it is "elitist" and not available to the poor is immense. And I'm the first one to tell you to watch the movie "Gattaca" https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119177/ Alas, the Space part is motivation for the character, not really part of the story, but it's a great metaphor for limited opportunity. Everyone ( sane ) gets the "best & the brightest" concept for choosing Astronauts. The movie exploits that and points at the dystopian aspects of "best" being predetermined by genetics. I've discussed this before. I figured "healthy" was an acceptable wedge in the door to the more problematic "my kids should be athletic, pretty, smart, .....better" But apparently "healthy" is enough to "trigger" victim mentality. I predict the snowflakes won't prevent Genetic Supermen ( Khan!!!!!! ) but guarantee them. But who knows? Perhaps this mindset of envy will make genetic supermen engineering a right. In Fifty years the average IQ would be rising past 150 as the old, Normals, die off. ( as the cold hearted aspects of Obamacare/State medicine kick in, and the stupid elderly are encouraged to "move on.org".) It will be a Brave New World. |

What's really sad to me is that having seen before and after charts when they do "adjustments" to historical temperature data, it becomes pretty much impossible to accept anything we see in long term temperature trends. It would be like a financial analyst adjusting the graph of the Dow Jones Industrial to eliminate the 1929 crash and asking you to trust him with your life's savings. It can be hard divining who you should trust, but sometimes it's easy to divine who should not be trusted. |

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2018/10/repor t_carbon_emissions_from_power_plants_have_dropped_ 28_since_2005.html The IPCC now defines Climate as imaginary. No, that's not right, They use imaginary data to define Climate? No, that just doesn't explain it properly. The IPCC defines Lying as their Method to steal. Yeah, that's it. The U.S. Produces less Carbon Dioxide per watt so that even with our luxurious lifestyle we are less polluting than everyone else. And by luxurious, I mean we expect that power is available 24/7, unlike previously civilized countries, like Venezuela, Germany, & Australia. And in other news, the Scam of making artificial fuel from air by that British company is still being sold to suckers. I've covered it here before, where they take CO2 & water out of the air and make methanol. It works too! All you need is multiple chemical plants, a refrigeration plant to dehumidify air, a 50 megawatt power plant, and the belief that fuel at the same price per pound as gem quality diamonds is progress. That it takes the equivalent in coal, nuclear, etc. Of thousands of gallons of actual gasoline to make one gallon of "air fuel" isn't an issue, since they imagine solar power or dilithium crystals will power the industrial complex. Same difference, in sunny England. https://www.wvcoal.com/research-development/englan d-is-converting-atmospheric-co2-into-fuel-alcohol Here, the researchers at Sandia have a new scheme to get the CO2, "Using concentrated solar energy". Good job! Neat tech! I http://www.alternative-energy-news.info/converting -water-co2-fuel/ Of course, natural gas is "concentrated solar energy" , too. So is wood. Alcohol production from corn at least burns about as much fuel as it produces. It would be impolite to point out that the coal to gasoline conversion plants are actually capable of making a profit, actually work, and actually exist. https://oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-General/US-Coal -To-Gasoline-Plant-Will-Be-The-Largest-In-The-Worl d.html http://www.transgasdevelopment.com/about/process.p hp I do like how "hundred year old German technology" is used instead of " Nazi WW2 emergency technology ". Not as scary. We, the taxpayers, invested billions into this tech back in the Carter administration. (Then the Saudis turned up the production of oil to lower the price below the $55 barrel needed to be profitable ) Nice to see it pay off. Finally. |

Too much carbon. As the New Pollutant/Sin Tax stuff, carbon is expensive. That's the method to ruin an industry, make it not profitable. But coal to liquid is profitable, like fracking, only over a certain price. |

https://gizmodo.com/video-shows-the-terrifying-dri ve-to-escape-massive-fire-1830331814 My prayers for the families affected. Let us just assume a repeat rant on why the Government of California is responsible for the severity of these fires by having insane laws on ecological mythology. Every year, since man walked into the region and said "Wow! Big trees! And look at all the fire damage!" These fires have happened. They also said, "Did you see that big bird eat Joe?" and " Someday the people that move here will be crazier than that stuff we see eating those mushrooms ". |

I grew up camping all along the Feather River Valley. The California State Park system is really a wonderful thing, and as a kid I remember listening with rapt attention as the rangers would have campfires with people gathered around and give information about the local surroundings, wildlife, ecology in general. One of the things I learned is that fire is nature's renewal system. Some of these coniferous trees are literally designed to spread their seeds using fire as a tool. Out with the old, in with the new. Woe to the fauna who happen to live in the path of this natural renewal. |

Firefighting with large planes works well and is cost effective when terrain is flat and wind speed at the ground is low and visibility is high. They also look great on TV. But that is not the situation we are facing in California right now. |

They want "nature" in Cali...they gots "nature" in Cali. Self-correcting force. Cyclical. Self-cleaning. Even when snowflakes whine about "I don't wannnnnt it to happpennnnnn...." Guess what, bonehead? Ma Nature is a LOT stronger (and smarter) than you, and she's been at this a whole lot longer than you have! Just step back, insure your stuff, and be prepared for when your number is up. YOU built in HER world...remember? (I won't get into the debate over whether this is a form of Natural Penance for those greenie morons who so densely populate the state of California...) |

Terrain is flat? That's not the environment air bombardment of fires has been used since the 1950's. The Pacific northwest and California hills are exactly the terrain airplanes have been most useful in. And the most dangerous. Hardest to coordinate, deadliest to man on foot and airborne. A close friend was a smoke jumper. It's one way she worked her way through college. Precision skydiving with a Pulaski in front of fires to cut fire breaks, and sometimes calling air strikes on their own position to protect themselves. Out on the flats, fire trucks and ground bound volunteers are quite effective, everything is safer for crews and planes, so....yeah, "cost effective" may have validity, cheaper in dollars and lives. But up in the hills where it's hardest to get trucks and dozers is where air power is most desperately needed. As to size? A Jetranger with a bucket is as small as it gets, or is useful. WW2 vintage TBMs also define minimum useful size. Now replaced by crop duster derivatives. I think the Mars up in Canada has flown it's last. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_JRM_Mars https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerial_firefightin g I think I Do Agree that a 747 isn't the easiest plane to snake through the Malibu canyons for a precision drop. A great deal of my personal flight time is in that kind of terrain, it's extremely difficult to find a point in the map without GPS. |
