i just dropped my bike off this morning for the service. other than the ridiculous cost of this service is there anything i should be looking out for. |

Go over that thing with a fine-toothed comb BEFORE you sign to get the bike back! Check it visually for any new nicks, dings, etc. Also look the whole thing over for any oil or tranny fluid leaks/spots. The bike should be clean and in the exact same shape you dropped it off in. Turn it on, let it run and really listen to it. Make sure there's no new noises coming from it. If memory serves, the biggest thing done at 5000 is to adjust the primary - other than that it's a lot of check this and that stuff. Not too much room for error. |

Jerymyh....let us know how the service experience goes with Nuts and Bolts. I just picked up a new 9SX last week at H.D. in Caldwell and curious at which shop to take for service. |

they said it would be about 250 but since i am running all syn3 i imagine they will be charging me extra. XB9SX: did you just get it if so i have to come check it out. By the way so far i like nuts and bolts but i hate paying 61.88/hr for work done. I am in the shop every week just itching to see the new yellow 9r. |

i forgot to mention something as far as checking the bike for funny sounds goes; i have stabbed the hell out of my stock muffler so it is extremely loud and thats all i can hear period, aside from the intake noise |

You just might want to call down there and remind them or tell them that you are running the Syn3 stuff. Some shops have been known to just refill with their standard stuff unless specifically told otherwise. Just a thought. |

Well my bike embalming has been completed. It has all Syn3 oil in it and seems to shift smoother than before. I think the last time the service was done syn3 was only used for the engine oil or something. as far as the service goes, the shop was totally professional and the only problem i found was a missing screw on my shin fairing so i went and told them to give me some new ones. oh yeah it was 269.02 for the service with all syn3 lubes. while i was at it i picked up my new traction grips. these grips fit my hand a lot better so far. |
