Below the rear cylininder on the exhaust side of the bike, a small black dohicky attached with a single bolt, with a black wire leading back near the cam cover. It attaches to the harnes with a grey 3 wire connector. Unplug connector, put in new fuse, try and start it. Speedo sensor runs about $53. Good luck (I get a new one Saturday) |

Dude! Wait more than 5 minutes before you get all huffy. The speedo sensor is on the right side of the bike, in the top of the transmission. It's just a little black nobby thing to the eye, with a couple wires coming out of it. It should be held in with a single bolt. If you're having the same problem as the last guy, there won't be anything visibly wrong with it, but you can disconnect it, replace the fuse, and see if it still blows to test the theory. |

In the TOP of the transmission. Yes, it would be near the starter. |

You mean that the 3-wire connection has two wires going to the speed sensor and one that goes to the starter? If so, you're looking at the wrong sensor. The speedo sensor itself is 3 wires - most likely black, red, and white. BUT - they will be encased in a sleeve, so they may look like one large black cable. Can you take a picture and post it and I'll circle the sensor? |

Pulling out the sensor will not change anything. You have to disconnect the triabgular 3-cavity connector. |

Well, then that's not your problem. On to the next step. What EXACTLY is happening to your bike. Write out step by step what you're doing and what is happening. You won't get any meaningful help if you can't clearly explain what the issue is. |

what is happening is when i turn the key to the on position and then i click the kill switch to the run position the ignition fuse pops right as i hit the switch and the ignition gets power and ive looked for shorts and nothing. |
