Heh...well, it's buried in the archives somewhere. If you or someone else can't find it by tomorrow I'll see if I can dig it out.

why dont a bunch of us, each buy one filter, different brands of course, and send them to one person, an engine expert or someone very knowledgeable and insightful, and have them cut each filter apart and decide which has the best flow/filtering capabilities and settle this once and for all.

after all, without some sort of experimentation, most people are guessing more or less about which works best, right?

any volunteers to do the cutting and show results? ill volunteer to buy a filter, anyone else? its for science! its for the good of our bikes!!

maybe just send some money to a trustworthy tester?

do a search for oil filter test on google. Someone already did the test you speak of except on a much wider range of filters. After reading this site, I immediately went out and bought a Mobil 1 M1-103 for my bike, and another Mobil 1 filter for my car.

Here's the URL for that test: http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/oil_filter_study/

btw, I use Amsoil in the engine and primary. Really quiets things down nicely.
