I am doing my 1k service and it says to zero the TP sensor, can anyone give me some advice? can I use a multimeter and if so what are the specified values that I would need. If any of you can help it would be great, thanks.

How many times must we go over the SAME STUFF?

Please, PLEASE use the "Search" function. That's what it's THERE for!

Ingemar posted:
I think the scanalizer was for older buells and the harleys with injection.

The 'digital technician' came with the xb series, but I could be wrong, I'm open for correction

Look here:
http://www.technoresearch.com/VDSTS-PC.htm

Look at the product features, then look at the price (third column is my best guess) and then look right below the table (buell motorcycle coming soon!).

So rejoice 'cos SOON we'll be able to do it all ourselves!

Now if it's RS232 comms and someone knows the pins used and we can get hold of a plug to wire, could we not use HyperTerminal that comes on all Microsoft PC's?

Just a thought. I use Hyperterminal quite a bit interfacing with various different instrumentation at work.}

Alright, for the price of getting my TPS set 15-16 times I can do it myself. This should pay for itself in about 15 years(assuming you already have a laptop).

Really though, I know there are a few of you out there that have dealer issues, distance issues and of course time issues. So for you guys and gals I am happy that this will be available soon.

Ride to the edge!

Darthane,

How many times do we have to hear you say that! Who freakin cares how a person gets their info. Thats how conversations are started.

Well,

I'm sorry Jason, I agree with Darthane. People should use the search function more often.

And he used the magic word twice ...

Sure people should use the search engine, its a great thing. But if you've noticed the BadWeb seems to be growing, and it will take the new folks a while to catch on as it did me when I was new.

It just seems that everytime some one asks a question that has already been asked Darthane is right there to say the same old thing.

It doesn't bother me in the least because it often refreshens MY memory or spawns a whole other tangent of conversation. If Darthane or anyone else sees a topic that they are already informed about then move along. He always acts like he's being put off by these repetative posts. Like I said who cares.

"If Darthane or anyone else sees a topic that they are already informed about then move along."

That, or post a link to the thread that has the requested information.
Or, if you can't remember where the relevant info is, you could use this link: Getting Started guide.

Mike.

I'd love to. A FAQ for XB owners new to the board would be great, along with it's own KV like the Thumper forum. Something that includes owner-recommended tires, oils, suspension settings, etc. and a big pointer that says "Read me!".

I wasn't trying to be demeaning in any way, and if you took it that way, quite frankly you have issues. Also, I do not post that line to every repetitive post by far. Remember the generalization thread, Jason? You're making one. If I posted that in every repetitive thread I'd wear out my keyboard. Most of the time it goes right by me.

Moving along...

Generalization? I don't think so, I was specifically talking about you. Overstatement? Maybe. It just seems that every post regaurding the use of the KV comes from you.

Now I'm moving along.
