(05 XB12R) My side stand is on the way out. The legs are starting to spread where it bolts on to the bike and a crack is starting to appear. The Buell shop gave it some kind of dodgey quick fix about a year ago after it fell off while riding, (I guess the bolt broke). Basically i need a new stand and pin type fastener to avoid the bolt set up again. Was there some kind of conversion kit to this? Id prefer to order from the U.S. because owning a Buell here is like owning a Ferrari anywhere. $$$$ for parts. |

There was a recall on that: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/B060-263606.pdf You can see if you missed any warranty work on your bike by going to the US Buell website > Owners > register. Once you do that there will be a link to the warranty info based on your bike VIN. It doesn't recognize international so make up a US address. And when the survey pop up pops up, tell them that this should be accessible internationally. |

Ive been signed up as a U.S. resident (fake address) for a while. I went to the Owners website but i couldnt seem to find the bit where it tells me what recalls should have been done on my bike. I think my VIN number is giving me away as a Japan bike. Japan Buell wants $300 U.S. to order 1 stand, 1 bolt and 1 bracket mounting plate. Seems expensive!!!!! I might have to search for other alternatives. |

If you are going to pay for it, as opposed to warranty, maybe a BW sponsor could sell you the parts? |

I don't see anything about warranty info on the Owners section of the Buell site. |

Ebay. I just looked and there is about 6-7 of them listed. One from Cali which would be your cheapest shipping to Japan. |

Thanks but I managed to get one here on an auction. It was from a Lightning. I was surprised to see its about an inch shorter than the one on my Firebolt. Strange, I thought he bikes were the same chasis wise? |

Paul, Of course I can't tell anything without seeing the parts, but I could not help wondering if your "new" used kickstand came off a Low model. I do believe that the chassis geometry of the Lightnings and Firebolt is the same as you suggest. |

Not so easy to get standard bolts in Japan. I've tried and it's a pain. |
