Buellskinner,

I'm just saying that that was the price that week at that location. I do not know if you could get one from those dealers for that price today.

Enjoy the models, they are pretty nice.

I ordered one off of Buellskinner the other day. Will look great next to the Avon tire Buell.

Anybody know whether the heads on a '02 M2 are different from the other models?

Also where to get the Avon Buell model?

Last question: Where to buy the 190 main and 45 pilot jets for the Keihin carb on my M2?

Please respond via email, OK?

Since 1999, the Cyclones have had thunderstorm heads. The rear Thunderstorm heads of late '00 and later production Buell twins include a thermistor for over-temperature protection. The '97/'98 Cyclone heads were of the "Lightning" configuration.

Buy the jets from your dealer or any of the fine dealerships or aftermarket retailers sponsoring this board. :)

I've responded here so that others who might also wonder about the questions you've posed, have their curiosity satisfied.

Okay...I have more questions about heads. What advantage do the '98 S-3 (lightning) heads have over stock sportster 1200 heads? Is this a good year to get heads from? Are they worth $200? Thanks for your input.

98 S3s have Thunderstorm heads and $200 is a good deal for the pair. They retail around $550 new for a pair. The Thunderstorms heads have bigger valves which give more HP but you also need to have Thunderstorm pistons to work properly with the heads.

Dan,
I might need that shock after all. I think I'm going to get screwed on the one I bought off eBay.

Lightning pistons are just plain-jane XLH1200 Sportster flat-tops. They give you 9:1 with XLH 1200 or Thunderstorm heads, and 10:1 with Lightning heads (the Lightning heads have a smaller chamber).

Thunderstorm pistons have a small 15 degree dome. They give you 10:1 with Thunderstorm heads.

I made my first Ebay purchase. The "Rumble Road" collection for $16. Not too shabby, me thinks.

Yeah...I saw them selling for $35 elsewhere and was appalled. I went searching toy stores and found nothing. Most were selling for $25 or more on Ebay...so I did searches using alternate descriptions and found it for that "buy it now" price .

Rick,
Dan's right. Great price!

I just got an email from the guy on Ebay that was selling the Rumble Road set. (the set I was outbid on last night)

He has a number of sets (8-10) available. I ordered one from him rather than hassle with the auction thing. He will sell them for $30.00 delivered. He takes PayPal or checks, the usual. Has tons of good feedback, I feel pretty comfortable doing business with him.
You can contact him at rmbakos@yahoo.com
I don't think I will get burned but you never know.

I should get mine next week.

Brad

Kent,
Be careful of those Buell Ligntning heads on eBay in auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=35572&item=1875835932

They are NOT from a '98 S3 but from a '97 S3 I suspect. All '98 S3 Thunderstorm Heads are black. The guy either made a mistake, knows nothing about buells or is not telling the truth.

I was wondering if anyone knows of some "neck-gear" to help support the weight of a helmet? I'm asking this question because a friend of mine has a neck injury and really wants to ride again.

Thanks
sojourn

Uhhh...Sojourn,
While I can relate to your friends feelings, I wouldn't recommend riding for him just yet. Think about it, anything that is going to help support the weight of a helmet is going to hinder movement and range of motion (not good). I would recommend encouraging him to be diligent with his rehab and building the strenth back up *before* riding again. My two cents.

Why do the handlebars on my '02 M2L vibrate so much? The mechanic at my dealer took it for a ride and doesn't think there's a problem. My hands go numb after 20 minutes of riding. My friends '99 M2 doesn't have this problem. I've ridden it and there is almost NO vibration at all! Could it be the muffler isolator bushing? Is there a recall on the muffler mount? Please help! I can't deal with Mickey Mouse hands anymore.

02s have the good muffler isolator bushings so I doubt thats your problem. You might have a wheel out of balance. Check to see if your wheel weights might have fallen off.

A trick some use is to fill your handlebars with steel shot to help with the vibrations or some kind of foam.
